Yeah, I'd suspect that the major metro areas would be a solid color with streaks across CONUS following the major air routes.

A point of interest: each nation only has lines within its boundries. Each national TELECOM organization (and thet are usual government monopolies) probably can only track phones in its database. One from another country may not show on this list.
