Man's Life Saved by Covid

You can't make this stuff up. Yes this is from a family member. Names changed because why not?

So Tom's been out fishing with some of his bud's and they're on the way home. A jerk cuts him off and he has to swerve his truck to avoid an accident. No harm, no foul, accident avoided. Problem: the event caused an adrenaline dump that affects Tom's heart rhythm.

A hour latter, being that Tom lives out beyond the rock, they finally get to the hospital. Tom tosses his keys to his buds and tells them to take his truck home and he goes into the ER to get checked out.

He's tells the nurse he thinks he's having a heart attack. He's had few, BTDT got the t-shirt. He's triaged and the nurse tells him, "They'll get to him in 5 to 10 minutes." and they did (country hospital).

Closer exam and he's shunted into a ER room, stickers with wires are attached to every part of his anatomy, he gets stuck with needles and they're hooking up pads/paddles(?) on his back and chest to give his heart a jump start. He asks if this is going to hurt? and is told not to worry, he won't remember it.

Just then a nurse runs in yelling they have to do a COVID TEST! Really.

Everything stops so she can jam a Q-tip like swab up his nose hard enough to bring tears to his eyes. The pain was just enough shock to bump his heart back into proper rhythm. He's fine.
