Manhunt underway after Tulsa Police officers shot during traffic stop

A manhunt is underway in east Tulsa after two officers were shot by a man during a traffic stop early Monday morning.

Tulsa Police Department says officers stopped suspect David Anthony Ware around 8900 E. 21st St. about 3:30 a.m. When a scuffle ensued, police said Ware drew a gun and fired on the officers multiple times.

Both officers sustained gunshot wounds and were hospitalized in critical condition.

Ware fled on foot from the area on 21st Street between Memorial Drive and Interstate 44, and police say they "are actively searching for him."

"If you live in this area, be very aware of your surroundings," police said in a social media post with Ware's photo. "If your dogs are barking, call us and we'll come check it out. If he is willing to shoot at us, he is likely willing to shoot at anyone."

Those with information are asked to call 911.

This story will be updated. Check tulsaworld.com for developments.

I know the perp was white and crazy, but being a cop was always dangerous, but man has it turned into one sh*ty job!

With everything blowing up and all the push that police are rabid killers of unarmed blacks, this type of thing will continue to get worse. Add in that the blue cities are making it almost impossible for them to do their jobs without automatically becoming criminals, fired and prosecuted.

In 2018 there were 5,250 workers that lost their lives. The leaders:
1,008 construction workers that lost their lives.
2,724 service providers that lost their lives.
1,379 transportation workers that lost their lives.

It is sad whenever a LEO is killed, but the LEO occupation is less dangerous than other occupations.

I agree there are many dangerous professions, wasn't trying to say it was the most dangerous profession. Only trying to point out why anyone would be stupid to become an officer or stay an officer in any of the infected blue areas of this country.

But with everything hitting them now, but would you agree that being a cop in any of the infected blue areas is truly a sh*ty job?

I've crossed paths with a few Tulsa PD types.

Every one of them was a decent guy.

I hate to hear this.

Expired paper tags. Bet he's a protester.

From the article:

Zarkeshan told Ware to get out of the car because it was going to be towed, but police say Ware refused.

Police say Johnson tried to use his taser before Ware grabbed it and Johnson pepper-sprayed him while trying to get him out of the car.

Ware then reached under his seat for a gun and fired three times at the two officers, according to the affidavit.

Johnson was shot in his head and body.

Zarkeshan was shot in his head, upper body, and lower body.

Documents say Ware stood over Johnson after he’d been hit and shot him three more times.

Lucky shots or had the perp been practicing?
