Man assaults woman, kicks her in head after argument over social distancing

2-2 minutes

A Washington state man assaulted a woman after they argued about wearing masks and social distancing to prevent the spread of coronavirus, officials said.

The victim was running on a track between Clark College and Hudson’s Bay High School in Vancouver, Wash., when she got into a dispute with a man who wasn’t following social distancing protocols. During the argument, he was seen smiling and making obscene gestures, according to Oregon Live.

The victim left the track, but the man followed her to her car, where he struck her multiple times and kicked her in the head after she fell to the ground, police reported.

Police responded to the report of assault, but the man remains at large. He reportedly fled the scene with a woman in a black SUV.

Ok that is stalking and assault, if the report is accurate the guy was acting like a jerk and the women made the mistake of trying to get him to leave her alone, instead, the report suggests he got closer and made crude hand gestures and intentionally moved even closer to her.

Unless this account is inaccurate, he then followed her to her car when she tried to leave - now obviously with 20/20 hindsight she might have been better off not to engage the guy in the first place but if he was getting "in her space" I can also see asking him to leave.

If the reporting stands up in court, I hope this guy is put away for both stalking and assault; that sort of situation with or without masks and social distancing are the stuff of nightmares for most women walk or exercising alone in public.

The end times are here.
Bullshit. No one needs to be within several feet of you on a running track. A pass happens quickly, two people on a track...plenty of space to pass - this isn't swimming laps in a community pool. I used to run on tracks all the time.

He was OUT to harass and beat her. She was lucky she wasn't killed. I hope some vigilante makes him pay dearly.
Apparently she became an “edict enforcer” which turned out to be a big mistake. Karens need to mind their own business or be ready to deal with the consequences. In today’s crazy world you’re just asking for trouble if you take it on yourself to be a law enforcer.

A woman gets kicked in the head, after SHE leaves, and you are ok with that???

Tracks are usually deserted. Occasionally, there is one other person. Both individuals ignore each other, and keep their distance even in the best of times. BTDT for decades, in multiple areas of the country. The ONLY reason he would have gotten close is to be a dick about it. No Karen behavior involved, nor "edicts" to enforce. This lady KNEW he was trouble from the beginning.

In her place, I would have shouted, get the **** away from me! She didn't recognize the seriousness of the threat soon enough. Always carry weapons. If he had tried that with me, he would have PAID.

This guy is a predator. If you can't see that, YOU have a problem.

Karen gets konked.

no, an innocent woman was attacked because the guy was too close to her on the track. they argued. he had options, IF he was there to run he could have passed on by, he could have gone around but no, he was an asshole who smirked at her then followed her to her vehicle and beat her up, kicking her when she was on the ground. he needs to be found and arrested. the lady was not out of line for asking him to back off
she did nothing wrong.

This has been getting MAJOR media air time since it happened in Vancouver. What it really boils down to is a Karen shot her mouth off and got punked real good. I posted before the so called 2nd lock down would FAIL and lead to violence. This Karen was hassling a guy on an OUTDOOR TRACK. People are fed up. Personally, I wear a mask indoors because of all the diseased SCUM I meet there, but I do not and will not wear a mask outdoors at all. I figure I got another 10 weeks, to September 30th before the REAL SOCIAL ANARCHY ECONOMIC COLLAPSE KICKS IN. I am talking evictions, unemployment runs out etc then KABOOM

Doug, even if she was a "Karen" NO ONE gets to follow someone to their car, punch their lights out, and beat them!

That is called PHYSICAL ASSAULT, a mature adult would have simply gone passed her and said: "Have a nice day," maybe in a sarcastic tone of voice, instead he got VIOLENT and could have ended up being arrested for MURDER ...

Now if she had followed him and was beating him, he might have a case here; as it is, he is a violent predator and I hope he is put away for a long time (again unless she did PHYSICALLY attack him, which I very much doubt).

I’m going to sound insensitive...and cruel, but people need to mind their own business. All of this is quickly getting out of control. Don’t start nothing and there won’t be nothing. The precipice is quite close these days, and anyone can go over the edge. So...sorry the gal got more than she deserved, but she should not have said anything. As for the guy, if he can be found...charge him.

Found, arrested, and spend some serious time in the clink.

The real issue here, when I think about it is no matter what she said, he didn't strike her at once but he FOLLOWED HER, that is not even a crime in the "heat of the moment," that is a predator.

There's a**holes everywhere.

Be prepared to deal with them.

That's about all you can do.

While I am all for self-defense (and have no issues with it) this is also the real reason why most complex societies have some form of police, courts, and incarceration/punishment.

If things get to the point that they got in a lot of ancient cultures, the next stage would be the women's brother, husband/boyfriend, uncles, parents even sisters; finding out where the guy lived and "eliminating" the problem.

Even the Norse knew this tends to lead to social chaos, people think of "big-bad Viking Warriors" which many of them were, but a lot of them made almost a hobby out of suing the pants off each other, in ways that might make a Los Angeles Celebrity attorney look surprised.

They also had a way to deal with personal feuds, if a person went before the local authorities (in Iceland/Norway etc) and said, "so and so killed my sister so I have killed him," it was not considered murder but if he didn't report it, it was considered murder.

While I can see the point, I'd really hate to see the US or modern Northern Europe get to the point again where such "laws" and "rules" are needed.

"Mind your own business" is now more important than ever. Right along with avoid all forms of confrontation. Don't go, steer clear, or walk away.

People are freaking me out. I'm not even in confrontation or argument, but there's just an air or energy of uncomfortableness when in contact with other people. The masks aren't helping with this.

The woman's only mistake is that she wasn't carrying a gun.
Carry a gun and learn how to hit who you aim at, at least at relatively close range.

In today's environment, it is not minding someone else's business if they get up in your face and refuse to back away.
I ask people nicely once. The second time, I'm not so nice and am prepared to fight.
If you get up in my face without a mask, with all this Covid crap going on, you pose a direct physical threat to me. in other words,
YOU STARTED IT.
Hell, I never let people invade my personal space before all this Covid crap started. What makes you think I'd let them now.

If you aren’t prepared for consequences then keep your opinion to yourself. There are days I swim upstream and days I let the current take me.
People need to understand that unless they are wearing a badge with the correct authority to back it up, most of the time your rights end where the other person’s start. Seriously, this could very well be an ADA/mental health issue and this woman is SOL because the mask issue does not overwrite the ADA. Essentially if you are choosing to wear a mask, that doesn’t mean you are a deputized mask LEO. That also works the other way around. In this case the woman picked the wrong soap box and wrong audience. I am not victim bashing just stating a fact.

as the story reads, the non masker is a threat to the community.
but then we all know that all non maskers are a threat to the community.

so, I am sorry . . . I do not believe the story occurred as written

The news reports of people getting attacked over masks seem to be one-sided. It’s always the person not wearing the mask that’s the crazy attacker. Have you seen any articles about someone with a mask going nuts on someone without a mask? There’s an agenda.
Well, actually i have a couple of incidents where guns were drawn by mask wearing people against non masked.

So she had time to take.pics of this guy or video, but not time to get away before he followed her? Sorry but my gut tells me she tried to impose the rules by arbitrarily enforcing them and got her ass whooped in the process. Sorry zero pity, mind your own damn business. Same shit as the blacks women want equality, but special protection from the mean men. Roll the dice and take your lumps.

I still don't like to see any woman get a beat down, and would like to see this guy punished, publicly shamed and anything they can think of to do to him, that being said, wear a mask, don't wear a mask,no one else's business.

Wow. I graduated from Hudson Bay High School and attended a few classes at Clark College before UW. Woman should have minded her own bizznes and the dude should have ignored her. This is going to get out of hand.
