Major Publisher Drops Plans for Biden Presidency Book

Politicians, especially those who have been gifted by voters with the right to occupy the Oval Office for a term or two, often make huge sums afterward with books.
The online site Brooksy, for example, now lists the “10 best books on President Obama.” Not the 10 books on his presidency … the 10 BEST books.

Joe Biden’s legacy, however, is moving another direction, after a major publisher abruptly canceled its plans for a book about his term in office.
A report at Politico notes in a “further reflection of the soft market for books about President Joe Biden, publisher Simon and Schuster has withdrawn its contract with Alex Thompson, Axios’ national political correspondent, for a book about the Biden administration.”
SCOOP: In another sign of the soft Biden book market, Simon and Schuster has withdrawn its contract with Axios’ Alex Thompson for a book about the Biden administration, two sources told me. The book was originally scheduled to be published early this year. https://t.co/IC0pMnDxKj pic.twitter.com/qKy1vr8IoC

it’s true.
But still writing it and aiming for 2025 to tell the story of the Biden presidency.
If you’re a publisher and interested, email/number in bio. https://t.co/3VKjuIsBzn

The project was supposed to be published early this year, and likely would have been a benefit to Biden’s attempt to gain control of the White House for another four years.
Plans were for it to be “a comprehensive book on Biden’s presidency.”
The report explained, “Simon and Schuster’s decision comes as a series of Biden books have sold relatively poorly — compared, at least, to the standards set by a number of best-sellers about predecessor DONALD TRUMP. Thompson is now actively engaged in talks with other publishers and is still working on the draft, according to a person close to him.”

It continued, “GABRIEL DEBENEDETTI’s ‘The Long Alliance’ has sold around 1,500 hardcover copies, according to NPD BookScan, while CHRIS WHIPPLE’s ‘The Fight of His Life’ has sold around 5,000 and FRANKLIN FOER‘s ‘The Last Politician’ around 12,000. That compares to the nearly 1 million copies that MICHAEL WOLFF’s Trump-focused ‘Fire and Fury’ sold, also per NPD BookScan, and the more than 400,000 copies sold of BOB WOODWARD and ROBERT COSTA’s ‘Peril.'”

Maybe the Chinese will enlist AI to write the definitive book on Comrade Joe?

And AI can re-write Joe's history as it has re-pictured US history.

This is interesting for another reason. For the last decade (or maybe two), the latest thing in "payouts" or "legal bribes" has been for various backers to arrange for a publisher to get a book contract to a VIP and pay them absurd amounts of money for a book that is often written with a ghostwriter (who receives a small salary for doing so -Nightwolf looked into doing this but was told only US residents are usually used).

People would get six or eight million dollars, and a few even write the books themselves. But most of these books then have a fancy display at bookshops for a few weeks, sell a few thousand copies, and are quickly retired to the discount rack.

I don't have the paper trail on how this stuff was funded. Still, I've suspected for a long time it was done with shadowy donations because no mainline publisher is likely to pay advances that big for a book they know isn't going to pay back anywhere near the amount of the advance without a good reason. A good reason is a hefty contribution towards publication or another perk they consider worth that amount of money.

The Biden cancellation suggests either the industry has had enough of this game or whoever was backing the "Biden Contract" has declined to provide the advance money. Again, to keep it "legal," it probably isn't as simple as a billionaire writing a check to the publisher. But they manage it somehow. This legal pay off to politicians and other VIPS has been going on for years.

No president should have a book about themselves unless they can color it in.
A book about FJB's Presidency should be a photo book of all the memes people have done about him with the stupid FJB moment photos that abound.

Bigger book than The Complete List Of Everyone Living In China (because there are SOOOOO many usable photos), funnier than hell and a guaranteed best seller.

have an idea that Biden isn't going to be able to blackmail the WH inner workings staff - like Obammy managed >>> and there's going to be several big ole' tell-alls - especially when these current Biden Crime Family investigations get some actual teeth ......

The only reason I'd ever buy his book would be to burn it, and it would have to be massively marked down on the Clearance rack first.

Yeah, the book was wrapped around a cardboard tube, and before use, it was still crappy paper. Only the most desperate would have used it, instead of poison oak, sumac, or ivy…
Ol’ Joe- he’s what ail’s ya…

The book would be of all of the accomplishments that potato head has done. It would be one blank page. That would be the entire book.
Since they claim he's accomplished more than any other president, and they wish people would just realize that fact, you would think his book would be as lengthy and profound as an old multi-volume treatment of Washington, Lincoln, FDR, JFK. Maybe even as big as one of Obama's memoirs.

The multi-volume annotated treatment of the Biden, and Obama, regimes will need to be that long to unravel the schemes they were involved in, both foreign and domestic.
