Louisville alert!
Louisville may be about to get a verdict in the. Tayler case. Local media reports that chain link fences have been put up near the courthouse and that police have canceled leaves and vacations. It would be wise to avoid downtown the next few days as unrest may follow the verdict. This is a high profile case and many protesters are expected.

I give up.
They took the money. End of story.

ESFP adrift in INTJ sea
Fortunately (or NOT) all of the forces are setting up for a set-piece battle. This should be interesting. I suspect we will be able to get a LOT of information as to how BAR.com conducts set-piece battles. maneuver and CONTROL as well as general command and control capabilities and comms methods and channels. (Hey Loup! gonna be doing a road trip and running your magic goodies in Louisville??)

I find myself hoping that the Guardsmen on this detail are Iraq vets with crowd control experience since B/A/R.com really DO need proper treatment and those vets won't be squeamish or overly restricted with ROEs not designed to quash the idiocy).

Lessons need to be taught EARLY.

And we REALLY better gain intel on how the damn coalition is doing their C4I before we have to go against them for real in Nov.

Nobody likes Louisville anyway.
Let that Pit of Vipers sink into the Mississippi and Kentucky would be far better off.
Never forget the "discovered" ballots from Louisville that allowed Beshear to usurp Bevin........Echos of November.

If the Ice House were to kick off, Kentucky might just be the place where it starts........

Have they even made an announcement yet? I haven't seen anything- not that it matters to the "peaceful protestors"...

State of Emergency Declared In Louisville Due To Potential For Civil Unrest, Rioting

Mayor Greg Fischer has signed two Executive Orders as part of the city’s preparations for state Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s decision in the Breonna Taylor case. The Mayor stressed that he does not know when the AG will announce his decision, or what it will be.

The first Executive Order declares a state of emergency due to the potential for civil unrest, which allows him to exercise any of his emergency powers, including those to hire or contract for services, and implementing curfews and other restrictions.

The second restricts access to five downtown parking garages and bans on-street parking in order to provide an extra layer of security for protests in and around Jefferson Square Park.
The Mayor’s announcement follows a Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) announcement of its own State of Emergency, which allowed Chief Robert Schroeder to cancel all vacation and requested off days for officers. LMPD also put into place several road and traffic restrictions, including:
Restricting blocks immediately adjacent to Jefferson Square Park to pedestrian traffic only, with no parking.
Establishing no parking and limited vehicle access from Broadway, north to Market Street, and from Second to Ninth streets. Anyone heading to the park is advised to rideshare, to cut down on traffic, and be prepared to walk a few blocks.
Police will facilitate ADA access at Sixth and Market streets, and will work with residents, business owners and downtown employees to allow necessary access, via these intersections: Second Street at Jefferson and Chestnut; Broadway at Fourth and Seventh; Ninth at Chestnut and Jefferson; and Market at Third and Eighth.

“Again, we do not know when the announcement will come, but we must prepare for it. Our goal is ensuring space and opportunity for potential protesters to gather and express their First Amendment rights after the announcement,” Mayor Fischer said. “At the same time, we are preparing for any eventuality to keep everyone safe.”

Last I heard, meemur, it was a case of preferring to win the war instead of focusing on the battles.

We've been pushed and prodded and almost forced into DJT stepping outside the bounds of his constitutional authority and thus making the images and narratives the other side is so desperate for: DJT another fascist, Kent State Martyrs, rivers of blood flow through the streets etc.. . ..

We, by virtue of age and political ideation have been ready to shut the lawlessness down. However it is about taking a COUNTRY through what lies ahead, not just the small subset that we represent. A case has been made, and apparently drives the behavior, of our president, that it is better to wait and force them to out themselves, give us a chance to collect all the funders and chain of command info and be ready to cut the head off the beast, instead of simply tossing street level tools into the trash.
