10,000 + hours with maintenance.

They run slowly and are built like tanks.

I have over 2000 hours on mine,with no appreciable wear (hell, it's just broke in..).

Some of these engines have 50k plus hours on them with little or no maintenance.

These things are bulletproof.

(They will run WVO too ).

Were it me, I'd stay away from "Old Style Listers"....Just my opinion. YMMV

George at Utterpower is another reputable source for engines, genheads, parts and technical help. I HIGHLY recomend his "Lister Longetivity" CD BEFORE you purchase

I've finally gotten to put some hours on my Lister generator pumping water. The pump is only a 500W load and the thing will run 8 hours on about 3/4's of a gallon of fuel!:D

Hillbilly - This is an engine that your grandkids could inherit with proper maintenance. Some have been running over 50 years!

Glad to see some has got some engines. The EPA requirements (some what ambiguous) and astronomical fines seem to have everyone spooked out of the business.

I'm looking for some waste vegetable oil to start running on that. My understanding is that an 80/20 mix runs great in these engines. Just filter the oil.
