CHAT Let’s get together for a shingles vaccine

About twelve years ago at the recommendation of my doctor in SoCal, I got a shingles vax. Few months later, I had a raging case of the shingles on the right side of my head. Went into my right eye and cracked the cornea. Had the full cornea transplant a couple months back. Still trying to get full vision back.
But, the new shingles vaccine is perfectly safe I am told again and again.
Your Mileage May Vary - YMMV. Proceed with caution.

I got shingles after that first "old" version of the vaccine too. (The single dose stuff). Then got shingles a second time. Argh. Both times, caught it early enough that the anti-virals helped, though the first time was especially scary, because it was near my eye.

After the two dose series of the newer vaccine, not another peep out of it. Seems to have worked for me.

How do you know if they put any of the mRNA concoction in these? There is NO vaccine worth taking anymore... too risky all around. As for safe & effective, anyone who believes this now is either a moron or just not paying attention. Most doctors are playing along with the poison injector pharmas.

You don't know. And as I keep saying after the debacle of 2020-2022 in 10 years those kids can vote and the face of healthcare will be forever changed...

Son had chicken pox vax series twice. Before I learned quite a few things.

Had chicken pox at 12. I recognized it. His doctor recognized it. But no one at school could recognize it. Because I signed no vax paperwork, county health called. Poor guy got an earful. But he was also willing to have a real discussion on it.

When son was 17, he got shingles around abdomen and up one arm.

There are good reasons for some vaccines. But I think it's become a way to experiment on our kids.

And I think cases like yours will become the norm as time progresses. Once it gains mass market acceptance, things will change.

There is only one vaccine I am willing for son to have at this point. Unfortunately the version that is safe for him to take is not available in the US. And it's the same vaccine I am willing to take.

AVOID the shingles shot!

If you come down with it like I did, just make sure you have North American Herb & Spice's P73 Oreganol oil. 2 drops under tongue, morning and night for 2 days, (be sure to have chocolate milk chaser), and rub on topically where it hurts, (pain WILL STOP within 30 seconds), and shingles cleared up for me within 48 hours. Not only worked for me but another friend who got the shingles.

My first wonderful doctor at the Va told me a shingles shot was worthless if you'd had shingles. Well I've had shingles several times, basically mild cases. She was the last good doctor I've had at the VA. I told one doctor i'd had shingles and he said I needed the shot anyway, that and for other reasons I never went back to him.

January of 2023....I had shingles...
Never vaxed for it...it started in right eye..
Thought it was sty.. hurt white blister..by Friday night..after doctor office closed.. blisters broke out..on the side of my nose and forehead..it itched, stung and hurt...i grabbed my colloidal silver spray bottle.. every time i felt it i sprayed it
In my eye also...you can use it in your eye...
Tried to get in the doctor's on Monday.. finally got in on Tuesday....was referred to eye doctor..
She was rough on my husband...why didn't he bring me in sooner..i wear contacts...so he had to drive..
.she didn't believe it started on Friday..she said the blisters were at least 2 weeks old....
Eye doctor approved of the colloidal silver
I didn't lose any eye sight..
CS really works

So I have had shingles three times within 6 months. I discovered lomatium. I never spell that right but between that and the oreganol and olive leaf mine dried up within 48 hours. Within a couple of hours I started feeling relief. I now take a preventative mix of lion's mane and a number of other tinctures. I have been clear for 6 months. I just will not take vax for a number of reasons. That's a personal choice and not meant for everyone. Each of us has to do what is best for us.

I and my brother both had a raging case of chicken pox when we were kids in the 50's. I was exposed twice in the 70's when both sons came down with chicken pox before there was a chicken pox vaccine and I did not have a chicken pox recurrence. Later I had both the original one dose shingles vaccine and the newer two dose shingles vaccine. I have had no issues with either vaccine type and have not suffered a shingles out brake. My younger brother did not get either shingles vaccine and suffered a major shingles out brake at age 70 that left him with lasting severe pain in his shoulder and neck. I personally recommend the shingles vaccine. I watched my brother suffer BIG time. You do not want to go there.

Recurrence of a Rare Subtype of Guillain-Barré Syndrome Following a Second Dose of the Shingles Vaccine

Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) is an acute, immune-mediated polyneuropathy. The exact cause of GBS remains unknown, however, it commonly develops post-infection. Since the 1950s, various vaccines have been attributed to causing the syndrome, yet no definitive relationship has ever been determined. In 2021, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) placed a black-box warning for Shingrix, a non-live recombinant vaccine against the varicella-zoster virus, regarding a possible risk of acquiring GBS post-vaccination in adults aged 65 and older. We report the recurrence of a rare subtype of GBS in a 61-year-old patient following the second dose of Shingrix. This case highlights the difficulty of diagnosing and treating recurrent GBS. It also raises awareness that Shingrix may be related to the development of GBS in younger patients. This case also emphasizes the importance of differentiating GBS from other polyneuropathies.
Keywords: gbs variant; guillain-barré syndrome; neuromuscular disease; shingrix; vzv; zoster vaccine.

So the current shingles vaccine is not mRNA, shingrix (developed in 2017) is nonrecombinant subunit, and zostavax (developed in 2006) is attenuated, basically a larger dose of varicella vaccine. I haven’t kept up to date on the ins and outs of those, I’m not in the age bracket yet, although I had a mild case of shingles in my 30s.

My understanding, the shingles vaccine has the most insistences of confirmed side effects, and according to some people, it’s pretty gnarly. It also has a lower efficacy and wanes much faster than initially thought. There is at least 1 mRNA vaccine in development, but there are SEVERAL different ones in development, to be fair.

I actually *just* had a friend who had a full breakout in his 40s, in his face/eyes. He suffered to the extent that his wife went and got her shingles vaccine, lol. I asked her how she felt, she said so far so good, and we commiserated over the fact that the meds prescribed are the same for herpes, and we both were very vocal when we picked up to repeatedly mention SHINGLES! This is for SHINGLES.

Honestly, I feel like this a YMMV type of thing. My case was very mild, a small spot on my back (brought on by an illness and still doing 9-10 hard workouts a week), but it hurt SO DANG BAD, I never want full blownsies. But like with everything, ya gotta decide for yourself. I don’t take the flu vaccine either, but as I get older, I consider it more. I may take it in the future, I may not. I try to do a better job of managing my pre-existing conditions and taking better care of myself. I guess I’ll look more into it in the next 10 years or so.

I also have to wonder on some of the vaccines if they are purposefully contaminated as part of the depopulation plans.

North to the Future
When I came down with shingles in 2021 down in Florida it was my face, and almost got my eye. I could not have cared less about any rash. That was nothing. What happened to me was triggered insane migraines (close to 9.5) 10-20 minutes each, with never more than a too-short moment of respite. Insane doesn’t cover it. Never again. But I truly hesitate to take the vax for it.

After my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine for Covid, I came down with symptoms very close to Guillen-Barre. I was in hospital for almost 2 weeks. It took me almost 3 months to get to walking again like a normal person.

Now 2+years on, it's like it never happened. I take the 110 steps up to campus 2 at a time just like I used to-except now I use the hand rail, or keep my hand near it, jic.

Had shingles from turkeyday to valentines day on my upper chest. Itched like crazy, hurt, but it was a numbing pain. Still have the scars, hoping they go away soon.
