Lavender and Meadow (poetry)

Here's a poem about having beauty all around you and not seeing it for what it is.

Lavender and Meadow

Blankets the meadow does
lavender lay, silent,
smoothing, freely choosing to
contrast, not conflict
with the crystal greens
of Spring.

And does the meadow know
lavender is no enemy;
is a common cause to
beauty and is, in a silent
manner, whispering
"I belong" and even,
I belong here"?

Meadow lays, snuggled in
lavender, and brushes
with the breeze who kisses
and hears all of this,
whispering, wondering,
taking it to the trees
who gather all into their
limbs and leafs for safe
keeping or, maybe,
an answer.

And coaches filled with
passers pass, sighing,
"what great beauty there
is lavender and meadow
green and what a lovely
scent!"

But lavender is still
unheard by meadow greens
and gold who shift against the
breeze to loose the vagrant
who is no adversary.

While lavender lays in
silent screaming "I belong!
yes, I belong here!" Meadow
pitches up and out into
the winds the unbeckoned
guest, yet lays down then and
drinks in deeply the breaths of
scent while musing,
"what is that nice smell?

Thank you for the very nice poem, as i am looking out on ice and snow.

Ice and snow are as close friends with each other as Lavender is to Meadow. ;)

I have a nice one (I think?) about snow and the walking in the woods that I'll have to relocate and retype into my computer since my "great crash with no backup." :shk:
