It wasn't too bad. It was OK when made into a gravy over noodles. The ground beef was better. Something about the texture put me off. I bought it for the super long storage time. This was 7 or 8 years ago and only paid 6.80 for the 28 oz. Same for the ground beef. The prices now, sheesh. I really think canning your own may be the better solution. But, I do have 2 cans of the ground beef put back, just in case.

The flavor of the beef and the ground beef are good. Check the ingredients. IIRC it's beef and a little salt. We used to have a few cases, but lost them when the boat capsized. Tragic. Lost our preps and lost our lead projectors.

Dump TendaBake self rising corn meal mix into a mixing bowl, add an egg and a little olive oil plus buttermilk. Mix till it's the consistency of good mortar mix. Cast iron skillet greased with Crisco and preheated to 400 degrees, mix should sizzle when it hits the pan. Rock the skillet to get any bubbles out. Bake till golden brown. Let sit a few minutes and turn out.
