First: I resent the implication from Safecastle (via PM) that I am somehow affiliated with the vendor that I posted (and purchased from). Just because I found a cheaper seller and wanted to share my experience with the forum, that somehow equates to my being "affiliated" with the other vendor? I am affiliated with and work for NOBODY!
Second: when I made my recent purchase, Safecastle had a note posted on their product stating that it was manufactured on June 28, 2013, while the same cheese at CampingWorld had a production date of January 15, 2014. This was part of the reason I chose them over Safecastle. I see that Safecastle has now changed its date.
Third: here's the math supporting my original post:
SafeCastle: 36 cans 7oz(200g) Bega canned cheese is $118.30 shipped.
CampingSurvival: 36 cans 7oz(200g) Bega canned cheese is $93.02 +$8.93 shipping = $101.95 shipped (to my address). I recently purchased 72 cans from CampingSurvival and saved $32.72 over Safecastle's price despite their "FREE" shipping.
Fourth: Safecastle said above, "Don't think you have 7oz cheese on Camping Survival. So its impossible to compare." Good lord...Google 200g and learn that 200g is 7oz. Or better yet, pick up one of your cans and read it. Geesh...
Lastly: In a PM, Safecastle admonished me for posting my experience by saying, "posting directly on our thread is like putting graffiti on our advertisement". They wanted me to post my pertinent response in a new thread. I've never heard of a policy like that. Can someone clarify this for me? If it IS policy, I will honor that.
Conclusion: People can buy from whomever they choose, but I am an avid bargain hunter, and Safecastle simply couldn't win my business this time (I have bought from them in the past).
I'm not looking for a pissing match and I'm ready to kick the sand off my sandals and move on.
