PRESS RELEASE | January 15, 2021 NIH Revises Treatment Guidelines for Ivermectin for the Treatment of COVID-19 Ivermectin is Now a Therapeutic Option for Doctors & Prescribers NEW YORK, N.Y. — JANUARY 15, 2021

One week after Dr. Paul Marik and Dr. Pierre Kory—founding members of the Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC)— along with Dr. Andrew Hill, researcher and consultant to the World Health Organization (WHO), presented their data before the NIH Treatment Guidelines Panel, the NIH has upgraded their recommendation on ivermectin, making it an option for use in COVID-19.

This new designation upgraded the status of ivermectin from “against” to “neither for nor against”, which is the same recommendation given to monoclonal antibodies and convalescent plasma, both widely used across the nation.

By no longer recommending against ivermectin use, doctors should feel more open in prescribing ivermectin as another therapeutic option for the treatment of COVID-19. This may clear its path towards FDA emergency use approval. “ Ivermectin is one of the world’s safest, cheapest and most widely available drugs,” noted Dr. Kory, President of the FLCCC Alliance. “The studies we presented to the NIH revealed high levels of statistical significance showing large magnitude benefit in transmission rates, need for hospitalization, and death. What’s more, the totality of trials data supporting ivermectin is without precedent.”

In its ivermectin recommendations update, the NIH also indicated they will continue to review additional trials as they are released. “We are encouraged that the NIH has moved off of its August 27 recommendation against the use of ivermectin for COVID-19,” continued Kory. “That recommendation was made just as the numerous compelling studies for ivermectin were starting to roll in. New studies are still coming in, and as they are received and reviewed, it is our hope that the NIH’s recommendation for the use of ivermectin will be the strongest recommendation for its use as possible.”

Ivermectin, developed in 1975, led to the eradication of a “pandemic” of parasitic diseases across multiple continents and earned the 2015 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine for its discoverers, Dr. William Campbell and Dr. Ōmura Satoshi. In related news, the manuscript written by the FLCCC has been accepted for publication, following a rigorous peer review, in Frontiers in Pharmacology. The full paper will be published within the next couple of weeks, however the  preview can be found here.

Now that Trump is out...all the stuff Trump was touting, that they hated then, will suddenly be fair game. Back in December, Trump talked about Ivermectin and it was the devil then. Now, it's great, eh?

I thought Trump talked about using hydroxychloroquine, not Ivermectin.

I prefer to stay clear of all of the Covid treatments! But, I think IRL I'd prefer President Trumps protocol! In on Fri.out on Monday!

Talk is cheap
You will see all kinds of 'miracle' treatments with well established medications for Covid now that the Dems are running the show. Look for weekly updates on meds and watch the numbers of new cases rapidly decline.

It seems to me, from what I read, that this is the answer. Ivermectin works!

All 4 adults in our house took two doses of ivermectin (the horse paste). At the time, only SIL was starting to get sick. Within a few days, he was in the hospital with Covid pneumonia and stayed for about 8 days. He’s home but still recovering.

DD was the next, but her symptoms were more flu-like in severity and she never went to the hospital.

I was next. I’d say I had a moderate case, with fevers for about 10 days. In the middle of the night I asked DH to take me to the hospital due to shortness of breath and declining O2 sats. Covid pneumonia. I stayed about 12 hours. They wanted to admit me but had no beds.

The following day I took DH to the hospital where he stayed for about 10 days with Covid pneumonia. He’s home and off the O2 but still coughing and weak.

We will never really know whether the ivermectin helped us. I certainly don’t think it harmed us, and maybe it kept DD out of the hospital and saved SIL‘s and DH’s lives. I’m glad it’s getting more approval and more press.

The Covid protocol I was working off prescribes a third dose at about the 4 week mark. I guess it’s time.

What was the dosage mentioned in another post? One notch per 50 lbs of weight on first day and then again on day 3??

We got the Durvet brand, apple flavor. I gotta admit, horses are dumb if they think it tastes like apples. :)
It's not flavored for the horses! LOL! (Marketing is always for those with the pocketbook!)

In my experience, horses hate the stuff... which is why it's made as a sticky paste, so they can't spit it out. I've got one mare though, with a *major * phobia about anything smallish and white. 5 gallon pails, paper plates, garbage bags... and tubes of wormer. She must have had a terrifying encounter with something white as a foal. Anyway, it is literally impossible to get within 5 feet of her with a tube of wormer. 850# of utterly panicked equine is no fun. However, if I color the tube with a black magic marker- no problem!

I wonder if Ivermectin will end up being a treatment for flu. (Not saying that Covid is just a flu, though some say that. But it will be interesting if some new tricks for treating some of the other diseases will be a consequence of the Covid experience.)

I have a tube of the horse paste. I am 170 pounds. Do I use 3 notches? Do I just eat the sticky stuff?

I am going to have to go to a risky place this weekend, so i am concerned about doing everything I can to protect myself.
