Story Time

I think it was 1976, a couple of years before we were married. Frau Baron and I are in Wyoming, headed for Glacier Park, Montana. We were thundering down the Interstate in my baby blue 1965 Plymouth Fury four door sedan with the ubiquitous Chrysler slant-6 engine.

It is hot out. Real hot. The radio said it was 101F outside and of course the car doesn't have air conditioning. All four windows are rolled down and we are blasting along at 80+ mph. The air flows into the car like a blast furnace. An 8-track player, held with sheet metal screws, under the dashboard is cranking out the above tune.

Frau Baron makes the Executive Decision to jettison her blouse and ride topless for the next couple of hours.

I'll never forget that image and the music associated with it . . . :groucho:

On The Level
WOW---Nice work you guys! A lot of good music on this thread.

I used to skip this song way back when. But I love the whole song now, especially the chorus. I just like the sound of it.

Michael Schenker Group from the album ASSAULT ATTACK

DANCER

She works at it hard and she keeps herself to herself
But she can take what she gets anyway
She talks of the things and places she wants to go
But she knows that she wants all the things she wants

She's a great dancer
Not ideally built for ballet
She's got her calling card to live this way
The young teenage boys
Would climb on cars just to take a look
They watch her move, schoolboy dreamers fantasy

She's a dancer, not ideally built for ballet
Embracing everyone to see the play
Everyone's eyes are looking on as she takes the stage
Seeing themselves as she plays out their lives for them

She's a great dancer
Not ideally built for ballet
She's got her calling card to live this way
The young teenage boys
Would climb on cars just to take a look
They watch her move, schoolboy dreamers fantasy

She works everyday, does anyone care?
Playing the fool is anyone there?

She's a great dancer
Not ideally built for ballet
She's got her calling card to live this way
The young teenage boys
Would climb on cars just to take a look
They watch her move, schoolboy dreamers fantasy

She still looks quite young and the world has a space for her
Something there in her face good to photograph
The reason she said, for being able to take success
Living this life, cause she only has this chance

She's a great dancer
Not ideally built for ballet
She's got her calling card to live this way
The young teenage boys
Would climb on cars just to take a look
They watch her move, schoolboy dreamers fantasy

Everybody knows, she knows, she knows
She's got a good voice
She's keen and got some visual sense
She's keen and has to take a chance
Which she knows in her streetwise way
She knows, she knows
