Oh my goodness, how would we make it now what with our supersize eating. No wonder my relatives of yesteryear provided their own food by big gardens, raising beef and pork, etc. Their off spring around here are totally dependent on the grocery store, no gardens, no farm animals, etc.

Its no wonder that people weighed a lot less then than we do now.

And many people around here that live in the woods turn their noses up at wild game, would rather have the processed, God only knows what they are fed, crap from the grocery.

God is good all the time

True. For example, about 3 weeks ago, I went to a store that has live lobster. I got one. Cost me $50. I only got it because I hadn't had one for almost 2 years, so if you amortize it out, it's cheaper than burger... ;)
Sorry for the little drift.

Just curious if that was a warm or cold water lobster like we have here in NE. I just had a couple on Labor day. They were awesome!

Tell them to move out of the woods and move closer to a grocery store nearby, problem solved?

I have actual frozen eggs. Crack those suckers into a muffin tin, place it into freezer, pop them out quickly into freezer bags.
Yes, I always freeze eggs when the hens are going nuts, too. I've kept a layer flock since I was a ten year old 4H kid, but you never know. Have also had predators try to take out the flock a few times over the years - bears, wolves (a few weeks ago), fox, bobcat, coyote. That's why I still keep LTS dried eggs in the pantry.

This too shall pass.
There is already rationing. I just placed an on-line order with Walmart, to pick up tomorrow. A number of items had limits on them, and -- by dollar value -- almost 1/4 of what I wanted was simply not available. It may not be with a coupon book issued by the government, but that is rationing.

Most of the time where food shortages are concerned, DISTRIBUTION is the issue, not PRODUCTION.

Distribution can be controlled....

There will not be rationing. Instead there will be Allocation of Scarce Resources. Rationing implies a shortage. Allocation implies that needs will be met satisfactorily, that there really is no shortage.

Baring civic collapse so the trucks run only under police protection, power will be the first one rationed. Note the savage resistance to increasing power production. As power plants are closed due to global warning restrictions, increasingly scarce power will be allocated to only social useful activities. As I have ranted many times, production of guns and ammo will not be one of those activities.
