CRISIS Is There Hope For The US?

Ragnarok

On and On, South of Heaven
For the entire lives of anyone under the age of seventy-five, the US has been at the top of the heap in almost every way. For decades, it had greater freedom, greater prosperity and higher production than any other country in the world.

America was a cornucopia – the centre for innovation and trends in technology, the arts and social development. And today, many Americans, even if they complain about changes for the worse in their country, come back quickly to say, “This is still the greatest country in the world.” Or, “Everybody is still trying to come here.”

Well, truth be told, neither of these knee-jerk comments is accurate any longer. But even those who have come to that realisation tend to resort to the inevitable fall-back comment: “Well, whattaya gonna do? It’s just as bad everyplace else.”

And yet, this is also inaccurate. Throughout the history of the world, whenever a country had entered its decline stage, others were in the process of rising up.

And this is just as true today. There are countries where prosperity and production are far greater than in the US and, increasingly, countries where the key ingredient that made America great – Liberty – is present to a far greater degree.

In fact, this is the one characteristic of America that’s most rapidly in decline. This is especially true in 2020, when a virus has been used as a justification to dramatically increase governmental dominance of the populace.

It matters little whether the US had a hand in creating the virus, or whether it was merely co-opted as an opportunity to expand control.

The result has been heavy-handed governmental meddling in medicine, business and personal freedoms.

As regards the latter concern, the odd halfway measure of personal movement control is not great enough to keep a virus from spreading, but it has been sufficient to collapse businesses, create record unemployment and make it impossible for some people to feed themselves.

In the bargain, it has served as an ideal cover story for an economic collapse that had been inevitable. The government can say, “Don’t blame us for the collapse; it was those naughty Chinese and their pesky virus that did it.”

The decline is not an accident. It’s a planned demolition. And it’s going well. For those who actually pull the strings, profit will be made from the unfolding crisis. Not for everyone, of course, but most certainly for those few who are creating it.

But many say that the US is waking up, that its citizenry are coming to the conclusion that the Deep State – that corporatist ruling class that are made up of governmental and big-business leaders – has increasingly destroyed the prosperity, production and liberty that once existed and replaced them with massive debt, an exit of production to other countries and a vanishing middle class.

And they’d be entirely correct. The endgame for the once-great US Empire is now underway, and over the next few years, we shall bear witness as it tumbles downhill.

So, what are Americans to do?

Well, my belief is that – as is always the case when a country declines – the populace will divide into several groups.

The first group
, which will be by far the largest, will increasingly grumble, but ultimately do little or nothing to save themselves. They will go down with the ship.

The second group will say, “We don’t have to accept this.” They’re the preppers, the ones who have a store of food and have been stashing away guns and ammunition. They’re the folks who are seen at the corner bar, saying, “If they come for me, I’m locked and loaded.”

Their friends nod in agreement, but in fact, if a trained and outfitted SWAT team were to arrive on their porch, there would be very few who would succeed in getting off a single shot, and for those who did, their remaining life would be brief.

On the more thoughtful side of this group would be the third group. They would also say, “We don’t have to accept this,” but their choice of a solution will be to “work within the system.”

This is a much larger group – the ones who wait for each election as though it holds a solution. Each time, they’re disappointed. If the party they supported is elected, the winners somehow fail to return the country to the free society it had once been. If the other party is elected, the decline only accelerates.

Incredibly, the lightbulb never seems to go on for this group. They never get to the point of realisation that, “Oh, I get it: neither party has any intention of returning the country to a state of liberty. The only question is which group of pretenders gets to be in charge of the decline this time around. Either way, I lose.”

It could be said that this is the most tragic group. They’re sincere and dedicated. They endlessly hope that a solution is just around the corner, without there being any actual substance for their hope.

The commonality in all three of these groups is that they all end up as casualties. They may differ in their approach to the decline, but they’ll share in the loss of their wealth (however large or small) and their liberty.

But there’s also a fourth group – those who leave. Their numbers are small and they tend not to make a large impact on the consciousness of the other three. In fact, they’re never even mentioned by the media. It’s as though they don’t exist.

So, let’s step back a few centuries. America was founded by a hardworking assortment of settlers who came from several countries in Europe. In their home countries they witnessed oppression – limitations to both their liberty and their ability to create a good life for themselves and their families.

They were independent-minded and self-reliant. They carved out lives in the wilderness and later built towns, then cities. But all the while, they hung on to their core belief of independence and liberty.

Today, they’re still revered as being the backbone of what made America great. And this view is accurate. Yet, today’s Americans are nothing like them. None of the three groups above thinks like them, although the middle group would like to believe they do, merely by owning guns. They’re not independent-minded. They’re not self-reliant.

The key here is that the founders of America recognised that there was no chance that they could change the corrupt and controlling systems they were born into in Europe.

So they left Europe and started over elsewhere.

The fourth group are following a similar path: Seek out a destination where the government does not yet have the power to rob you of your wealth and freedoms.

The choice is a simple one. If you value your liberty – the ability to make your own decisions and to keep more of what you’ve earned – pack your bags and go.

Editor’s Note: The upcoming election may be the most important in US history. At least as important as that of 1860, which led directly to the War Between the States.

If you’re wondering what comes next, then you’re not alone.

Good read.

Third group definition especially.

However, contrary to the author's suggestion about the 4th group - given what I understand of some biblical prophecy - there is not going to be anywhere on earth that is going to be safe for us.

Exactly, there is no where else. There really is no where that does not depend on some system to survive.

Surprise! Argntina, Chile, Bolivia and, of course, the USA, seemed to end up with a boatload of them, and they did OK.

most of the greatest successes in my life can be attributed to my superlative ability to answer the multiple choice question and, using the #2 lead pencil, fill in the little round circle next to the correct answer.

I am a great guesser.

When in doubt, never take the first or last.
The first has always been arranged with a trick play on words.
The last is always just some made up shit but is grammatically incorrect and does not sound right if said out loud.
The second Is crafted to sound right in every way.
and the third always sounds wrong.
But it is always C or #3.
Always

I'd like to know, go where, too? I'm in no position to pack up and move to another country, but maybe one of my daughters could, or some other family member, and then they might be a place for other family members to go to later.

On that Confederate side of the family related to the Andersons, my great great grandmother started out before the war in Albemarle VA. During the war, many of the ladies and children "retired" to one of the relatives in Alabama, and after the war (when they had nothing left) they moved to Texas.

And my point is . . . those are not the only options . . . however, other options may require a good deal more humility and ability to move on past defeat.

I had looked at Chile a while back. Describes itself as "the end of the world". Most remote place that is not freezing, desert, or swamp. Southern Chile if you really want to disappear. Don't go too near the tip or you you will experience the increased ultraviolet sunlight of the ozone hole.

Well... It's my thread so I think it's okay to do this:

I spent the last half of my working life helping teach Special Forces soldiers how to do area studies. An Area Study is a critical part of mission preparation and is a very extensive document. No matter how many detachments have run missions into the area before, every newly assigned team does its own area study. Or used to anyway, I don't know about now.

Before we moved here DW and I considered a variety of possible locations for us to retire to. Ultimately we settled on this place, in part because she was born here and had always wanted to 'go home' even though she moved away as a child.

I still ran an area study on this place, using the same outline as in class, and that was enough to convince me this was the place. It is not perfect, of course, no place is, but here we are and here we will stay.

About the only place I think the Remnant will be going, is underground during the coming Days of Trouble.

"Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord GOD, when I will send a famine on the land— not a famine of bread or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. People will stagger from sea to sea and roam from north to east, seeking the word of the LORD, but they will not find it." Amos 8:11-12

Not as a country, any longer. I am compiling pertinent info on this matter, and will post shortly in the Religion section.

We will be called to the refuges VERY SOON.

It's never a simple as it seems. For those that think, even a bit, you don't take on a SWAT Team on your porch. At a time of their choosing under the circumstances they have chosen. In that case, your the model of cooperation and hand over or let them see your bolt action .22, single stack handgun and over and under shotgun.

Other guns? Nope, sold them when it was legal. Some guy in the Bass Pro parking lot who had an LTC... that's all the law called for then...

Have a good evening fellas...

(Be seeing you around)

And thus begins our own version of Yugoslavia, Spain, Chile, Chechnya and any number of other countries that tore themselves apart with internal conflict. Remember, Civil War is most un-civil.

You people need to get out more.

Out hiking in very large State park in a battleground rust belt state.

Was coming up to a dam when an eagle took off from a tree and flew right across my path about 25 feet off the ground. I say take this as an omen Trump wins. (Easily as believable as the polls they have been feeding us the last 4 weeks).

Nobody on the path for the 3+ mile hike was wearing a mask. Sure outside and all but not even carrying one out just in case. Everybody hello, hi, excuse us etc..,

This is the America that the media and Big Tech will never talk about. The America of people just being nice and doing their own thing. I don’t hate my neighbor with the Biden sign (the rest on the street are Trump) everyone is free in this country to be a wingbat moron at some point, I hate Antifa/BLM thugs, I hate the media, I hate big Tech oligarch wanna-be’s, I hate the deep staters that think they answer to nobody, I hate rich people and politicians who prey on children, I hate Soro’s and all his paid lackies, but everyone I passed with a wave and hello regardless of who they vote nothing but love.

This and the start of wimp-@$$ no people or bands at big ten college football is why there is still hope.

Peace Out

perhaps in the short run there's some hope if DJT remains in the lead roll. he says the right things, has done both right and wrong things, and at least he seems to be a nationalist. in our two party system that's also a one party system at the same time, big money and the establishment are the really calling the shots and directing the pols.

when in your life has govt actually lowered taxes, reduced it's overall spending and deficit, cut it's size, and done what the fairy-tale school books say govt is supposed to do 'for the people'. Hope and Change, MAGA, Change you can believe in.... it's all the same crap that one half or the other half the country falls for every four years.

guess we'll know a bit better in a few more weeks, and then after, if the handcuffs start flying and traitors land behind bars, only then will I begin to have optimism for the longer run. hasn't happened in the last 4 years after all the campaign promises, so I'm not counting on it.

regards to moving off to another country... there aren't that many that one would want to move to, and unless you are independently wealthy, there aren't many that will welcome you as an immigrant. people who blabber on about how they'll move to XXX, get a job, and start a new life there - uh, just try getting a immigrant visa, a work permit, in many cases speaking the foreign language, and culturally blending in. 98% of the time it ain't gon'a happen.

have said it before >> when Reagan came onboard it was like the dark clouds parted from the utter utter crap the US had for several presidential administrations - especially the Carter Years ....

we had 12 years of growth & prosperity and regained enough world dominance to settle the Iranian hash and eventually the Soviet Union ....

then we got the BS years of the Clintons and the immediate cruising and sliding back started >>>>

the US desperately needs this next 4 more years and then additional years of administration with the same mindset >>> NO MORE CRUISING & SLIDING BACK ...

If there isn't one, you might start a thread on Area Studies.

This is basically what I do. I have purchased several houses and have developed a set of techniques for doing this.
Online tools have made this very easy.
First, start where you are and do an area study of your current location.
1. Weather through the seasons. Terrain. ground cover. For example, Ground cover: Cedar trees. Why? Cedar Fever - If you are allergic to cedar, there are places you do not want to go.
2. Population and demographics. Easiest place to look this up is city-data. Population. Diversity. Average age. Crime.
3. Distance to necessary services.
4. Housing/land prices.
5. Economics. What business keeps your community afloat?
6. And whatever else is truly important to you.
Basically, you are building a baseline to measure whether the place you are going to beats the place you are coming from.

Then, decide on the spot that "sounds like" the grass would be greener.
Do the same research.

THERE IS HOPE. there is always hope. to not have hope is to give up.

now what hope will bring we dont know, after violence and protests are over, it depends on if people whill set and cry at what they lost, or dig in and start fixing stuff, its getting cold here, 32 last nite, 23 tonight, snow tonight, this more than anything will determine how much trouble there will be,

just dont loose hope,

even planting a garden in the spring is hope. setting up a tent and sleeping is hoping tomorrow is better , never give up hope.

There is no political solution to what is at root a spiritual problem.

Good politics is a result of a nation having a right relationship with God; it is not a cause.

The only hope for the US lies in repentance and conversion.

Indeed. Into WHERE and into WHAT we place our hope makes all the difference.

If we place our hope in the institutions of men that have been thoroughly corrupted and in a people who have abandoned foundational principles for the expediency of a corrupted system, even in the 'idea' of the country that no longer believes in it - then hope will be devastated.

If Pres Trump is re-elected YES. If anyone else not so sure.
Mike

If Trump is elected and if somehow the RINO's keep the senate, it will only be a gift of another 4 years of increasing crazy from the demon-crats and leftists’ elites.

The last four years were a gift to prepare for those who had eyes to see and ears to hear. To fill our oil jars for what is inevitably coming. To extricate ourselves from the system as much as was humanly possible and to make ready for the coming government beast.

The Republic and Constitution only work with for a majority of moral and religious citizens. People who are more concerned about freedom and equal justice for all, than growing fat and lazy from the efforts of others. A population that has continued to decrease while those who have turned away from moraility and reason continue to swell.

The people get the government they deserve and vote into the seats of power.

The fall of this country is wholly due to the votes from the always rising demographic of the immoral and unscrupulous desire for personal pleasure and removal from the consequences of their own actions.

Those who have realized they can get fat from the misuse of public treasury, from the work of others and who seek to silence the voices of those who stand for equal justice and morality, already outnumber those who still man the bulwarks of the Constitution.

The desire for immorality and unearned pleasures has become a tidal wave crashing against the remaining walls of those dwindling few who still stand against the destruction.

The founders knew their history and gave the people the tools that they would need to keep the beast under control, but if the people choose safety and to NOT do their vigilant duty of controlling the beast of government they will be overwhelmed.

You mean "Is there a possibility 50% of the population will pull their head out of their @ss?"
It doesn't take 50%, but it does take enough to root out the major crooks in DC. That said, I believe if we as a country can overcome just the damage that Obama and Biden did we would be off to a good start, and Pres. Trump is doing that.
