Hey fellow members!

Recent federal research has raised concerns about the safety of our nation's drinking water, with at least 45% being reported as contaminated with PFAS. North Carolina, unfortunately, has not been immune to this issue.

Specifically, the Cape Fear River has been under the spotlight due to PFAS pollution stemming from the Chemours plant in Fayetteville. The contamination has been ongoing for years, raising questions about the safety of tap water in the state.

So, here's the big question: What are your thoughts on the safety of North Carolina tap water? Have you noticed any changes, or do you have concerns about PFAS contamination in your area?

We want to hear from you! Share your experiences, opinions, and any information you might have regarding the water quality in North Carolina. Whether you're a resident, an expert, or just someone passionate about environmental issues, your input is valuable.

Let's engage in a meaningful conversation about the importance of clean water and what steps, if any, you think should be taken to address this issue. Knowledge is power, and together, we can raise awareness and work towards ensuring safe and clean tap water for all North Carolinians.

Well, something else to set one's hair on fire about. It would have been nice if the EPA had more information. There was a lot of "may be" and "might be" statements, and a lot of "need to study" statements. So... I'm not gonna worry about it.

Hey Lone_Hawk,

Appreciate your input on this matter! It's understandable to feel a bit frustrated with the uncertainties presented in the EPA's statements. The "may be" and "might be" language can indeed leave us craving more concrete information.

Your approach of not getting overly worried is completely valid. It's crucial to have a balanced perspective and not jump to conclusions. However, considering the potential impact on our drinking water, do you think it's essential for the EPA to provide clearer information and take more decisive action?

Let's keep the conversation going! Your thoughts on how we, as a community, can encourage better transparency and understanding from environmental agencies would be valuable.

Hey John,

Your perspective on the voting regulations in NC is interesting. The absence of a photo ID requirement certainly opens up accessibility for everyone to participate in the voting process. It's a topic that often sparks diverse opinions.

The connection you're drawing between the political landscape and environmental concerns, specifically water safety, is thought-provoking. It raises the question: How do you believe political decisions impact issues like water safety, and what role can citizens play in influencing change?

Your input adds depth to the conversation, and I'd love to hear more about your views on the intersection of politics and environmental issues.

Watch: Learn all about the new voter photo ID requirement.

Voters will be asked to show photo ID when voting in North Carolina.
Most voters will simply show their driver’s license. But there are many other acceptable photo IDs.
If a voter does not have an acceptable photo ID, they can get one for free from their county board of elections. Learn more at Get a Free Voter Photo ID.
Voters can also get a free ID card from the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV). Find more information under “No-Fee ID Cards” at State IDs | NCDMV.

You might be wrong! I got a card in the mail stating the requirements for photo ID to vote just a few days ago.
