The LEGAL issue here is that to be ELIGIBLE for UI, you have to be SEEKING WORK and ACCEPTING of an offer.
Bitch in the OP doesn't qualify.
They just added this in NV. For the last year no one was required to look for jobs because there were none. Now just the opposite. One of my favorite restaurants is now closed 2 days a week to give the employees a break because they can't get anyone new.
On the flip side, DD applied at Sprouts 2 weeks ago. She intended only to put in an application but she was interviewed her on the spot. It was a very positive interview. They are desperate for cashiers and she has experience. He told her to watch for an email. Everything is email now by the way- even some interviews are online and not in person.
Skip forward a week and she called them. Never received an email. The gal she spoke to said oh yes were talking about you. Our HR systems were "frozen" for a few days but should be back up. We'll email you.
Skip forward another week. No email. She called. The lady told her I'm so sorry you should get an email soon.
But they are desperate. Everything is online now not in person so if your "system" goes down I guess no hiring. Or is it all BS and they're stringing her along?
She's applied at a few places but they are the only ones to interview her.
