Oh my goodness, they are so delicious. You are a good cook so you could probably make them yourself. Search is your friend. They are somewhat spicy so DH would not touch them, but oh my goodness.

Meat pie??? Tell me more.

It is a unique, spicy (Cajun) meat blend enclosed in a pastry crust and then fried - at least, it was when I was still in college.

Tragically, I have not had a genuine Lazyone’s meat pie since I graduated from Northwestern State in the mid 1980’s.

They could have modified the recipe some in the intervening years, I suppose...

Absolutely, I haven't been there in awhile, mostly because DH doesn't care for the food, too bad for him. I sometimes go to a restaurant by myself because I like the food and I have no problem eating by myself.

Wish I was still in the area. I would join you in a meal. My wife, too, if she felt up to it (she loves Natchitoches meat pies, too, except when she is dealing with chemo).

Wouldn't ya know it? I've actually made these before. I just didn't know they were called meat pies! LOL.....I've heard pizzas called meat pies, so I wasn't sure what ya'll were talking about. It's been a long time, since I've made any, though. I don't know if I still have the recipe I used.

I think you can actually order meat pies, frozen.

Gee and all I have to do is run down to Black Lake and order one, nice and hot.
