Great commentary - language alert

I almost put this under political category or OP-ED because it comes under the sad but true category.

Politicians are there to give you the idea you have free choice ...

They own us....

They don't want population who can engage in critical thinking they want obedient workers ...

Carlin was a liberal, but at least he was an honest, thinking liberal (a rare breed indeed!).

Carlin had some great routines over the years -- I love his comparison of football and baseball.

That's weird. I watched Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure yesterday and was thinking how much I miss Carlin. :(

I kept waiting for him to say "Vote for Obama!"

Seriously, while he was telling the truth notice he used all the keywords that the Libs use 'Wal Street",
Big Bankers"
Millionairres"...and those key words have been used and ingrained to point fingers at the REPUBLICANS!

Not the Democrats no, no...the Democrats are for the little people they help all those who don't *have* money because Democrats are just fineordinaryfolks like you and me.

Oh and is Carlin dead?

Bet if he IS he really regrets standing on stage to the clapping audience and telling God to go **** himself.

First saw George Carlin as the lead-in act to a Tijuana Brass concert in San Francisco in 1966 (maybe early 67). He was a liberal all right but his caustic humor about hippies and liberals was less than appreciated by the S.F liberals, as they boo-ed him off the stage. I really enjoyed him and followed him until the later years when he evolved more into crude and foul humor.

keep your eye on the ball
Someone needs to remind this Carlin guy that baseball has suicide squeezes, grand slams, stealing, bean balls, brush backs, spiking and pick-offs. Football has huddling, kicking, pads, "unnecessary roughness", and time-outs. Baseball is a way tougher sport than football.

(and Im actually a big Carlin fan)

Those videos are great but there is nothing like his stage presence. We were lucky enough to see him in person 3 times over the years. His shows always sold out. And old fans knew that his "bits" were laced with sarcasm. He had great timing and delivery on stage.

I was thinking of christmas presents a few months ago and I decided to get us some of his dvd's of his concerts. The older the better.

I agree. The older material was less caustic and bitter and less about politics but did what Carlin did best, make observations about everyday things. The only person I'd put close to that category these days is Dennis Miller.
