How hot was it?

It was so hot yesterday that the chinese pea pods that I was putting into my collecting basket were already blanched!

It was 95 at 10 pm and it was still 90 at 11 pm last nite. Good grief.

Reminds me of the little primitive Baptist church way back when. It was hotter than blue blazes and humid to boot so the deacons approached the preacher to ask if he'd consider giving only a short sermon to spare the old folks in the un-air conditioned church.

The preacher said he would. So when the congregation sat down he opened his bible, looked over it at the gathering and said, "If you think it's hot NOW you just wait! Amen!" then closed his bible. Sermon over.

It was so hot that the dog was chasing the cat and they were both walking.

Actually, so far up here the summer is running 2 degrees below normal. Yippee!

I always thought Montana was on the cool side. NOT true, I discovered when I came to live here.
We are getting a little break on the heat in the next few days. The dog won't walk on anything except grass or greenery-she KNOWS that sidewalk and the rock path are sizzling.....

90 degrees at 8 PM, heat index (for those of you who enjoy that little peice of psychological torture) 104.

DD asked how the Amish stand it---no fans or AC. My guess is one of these summers, we'll all find out.
