Whats going on? None of them has the selection of foods they had before and appear to be only selling off their unsold odds and ends remaining stock.

Bulk foods .com too, has more of a selection than the rest, but is now almost half candy and sweets. vegetables more limited in choice, no green beans, not even in their mixed veggies. Some things are check back later. peas?

Food shortages, lockdowns,10x+ transportation costs, labor shortages, high inflation, high demand - for about the last 7-8 months.

Yeah I guess so. I am so stocked up I haven't needed to go to these wholesalers for a few years and didnt catch them changing their websites.

Try Emergency Essentials. I was looking at shoring up my supply (for cooking) of #10 cans of dried onion and green pepper the other day. They still had them. Not cheap for sure.

At this point, for most vegetables, canned is probably the way to go.

I hope you bought them because there are NO DRIED ONIONS NOW but they still have green peppers. (while they last)
they say on the website "
while the product lasts"

Try the LDS online store if there isn't a local store near you. They do have some products and their quality is very good:

Food Storage | United States Store (churchofjesuschrist.org)

I've been watching Honeyville for well over a year, and I've seen very little change in what they've been showing online (edited to add: almost EVERYTHING is out of stock). I don't know what's going on with them. We've bought from them before, this is vastly different.

Emergency Essential has been hit and miss of late. We've done a lot of business with them in the past.

It is getting very tight out there...don't give up. Costco also has some items on their website, but the last time I checked a few days ago they were pretty much sold out. Amazon is a back-up, but watch the pricing...some is ridiculous.

I remember the last time I dried diced onions in the garage a few years ago. All the neighbor's were wondering who was making the whole neighborhood smell like onions.
Differant house now, lots room between houses, so gonna do it again. :D
Yeah, there are certain things that have to be dried outside for the sake of your olfactory sense. One is onion and the other is garlic. They may smell wonderful in cooking but are certainly overpowering when dehydrating.

My problem at the moment for home drying is.....ta-da.....no chopping allowed! :) This fall is gonna be a bust as far as most home preserved stuff goes. As things turn out, the added advantage of a "no worries" 20 year shelf life is there, too.

The LDS site actually has a heck of a deal on 2+ lb cans of dried chopped onion right now @ 6/$56.00. That's a lot of onion.
IIRC, they charge only $3.00 for shipping. Hard to beat that.

You can"t just say that, without explaining WHY "no chopping is allowed".

New bionic shoulder joint. Haha! I do "push the envelope" on pure muscle moves, but any jarring/shock type stuff is a no-go for a good while yet.
