The ongoing Ebola outbreak in Gabon & Congo has been difficult to eradicate. Right now, it's been underway since November, if not a bit sooner. Thankfully, most cases have eben in relatively ioslated regions of both countries, but there are fears that there are new cases near borders with several other nations.
The cases in Gabon have had a high mortality rate & the strain responsible has just been identified via DNA testing as a new substrain of Ebola Zaire. This one is known as Ebola Zaire Mekambo, after the area in which it was first noted to be present.
