Business activities have resumed in Kitgum and Gulu after the two districts were declared free of Ebola epidemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The Chairman of Kitgum district Mr Mahamam Ojwee told The Monitor recently that restaurants and street snack vending have returned to normal after the WHO confirmed on 15 May that the district was completely safe.
"Businesses are now moving on normally even across borders, health alerts have been lifted after WHO confirmed the Ebola free," he said.
The Chairman for Gulu district Mr Walter Ochola also confirmed that, Gulu is safe from Ebola and encouraged the business community to resume their work.
"Gulu is very safe. Ebola is no more," Mr Ochola said. "I call upon all business people to comeback to Gulu for business," Mr Ochola said.***
