Mars Lander, Curiosity, is landing tonite.

For those that are interested,
Curiosity is supposed to land on Mars at 1:31am EST tonite. You are supposed to be able to watch it here on NASATV:

http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/ustream.html

When the page loads, just click the arrow in the middle of the screen. It is streaming video, you cannot reverse or backup the video.

You should start watching, at least, by 1:00 am.

My son is one of the lucky ones that is on his way to NASA where they will watch it live there! He is so excited because he is going to university this year to be a science teacher!

To me it's old news...
How many stupid probes do we have to send to mars???
I was interested back in the 70's...
Now it's just another mars rover...
It'll mean nothing...

3 hours 57 minutes of potatoes before the meat of the matter is served. I've been a Coast listener since Art Bell days during the national assault weapon bill in the early 90's.

IMHO AB & RH are the MASTERS of tease radio. I just can't hang out 3 hours and 57 minutes for the three minutes of revelation after hours of commercials and re-re-introductions.

Any "steak" revelations will be posted here for you, then. But why not watch it live on TV w/o GN or RH?

haha I've been listening since '96 myself. True, they were great at teasing us along, but, usually, the shows were very good, not boring. Plus, unfortunately, most newcomers and newly opened minds need to be 'psyched up' over a period of time, rather than having the info just dumped on them. If they just opened the flood gate and dumped the info out, most people wouldn't know what to do with it.

RH always does an excellent job going over the history, and presenting the foundation for conspiracy very well for the average joe, so that when they finally get to the 'meat', joe blow understands the true value of it. This approach, however, can get a little old for those of us who have listened for a long time and are already believers. Nonetheless, AB/RH will always be my favorite 'paranormal combo' :D

I see you now have 2 bombs for Hawkins.

Flipper, you are incredibly observant . . just got the second one this a.m. I wanted it to say "Come Back, Hawkins - its 2 for You Now" -or "Go Texas" (the Republic of) . . . Loved Jericho, even despite its sometimes hokey story lines. Thanks for noticing . . .

Thats true. I just want to see if it works!! It is a shame that the space race fizzled. We should have a Moon colony, Mars colony, a couple of colonies on the moons of Jupiter- especially Ganymede! And maybe one at Saturn. We could have had all that and more but the polititians couldnt make money off of it.

All it would take is ONE asteroid and mankind is finished.

Mars Lander Probe Curiosity will land on Mars tonight

....well hopefully. Success rates for Mars missions are less than perfect, but hey we should be getting good at this by now. This Martian Rover weighs 2000 lbs and is the size of a small car. I followed the two little guys for years, and am hopeful this mission is as successful.

Here is a link to the mission...

OK, I'll have some A-1 ready just in case there are some scraps left on the table when I get off work.

Flipper- Your power of observation for spotting newly deployed ordinance are remarkable.

What bums me is they keep sending them near or around the equator and none near the polar cap.

I really really really hope he doesn't bring up the movie "John Carter of Mars" again, God Bless him but he seems to always bring up that movie when being interviewed for anything to do about Mars. *sigh*

It's gonna be a looong night. *double sigh* V

They keep sending them to the same area...

I wish they'd grow a pair and send one to Cydonia.

This probe can go underground and needs no solar panels for power. Ever wonder why? Has to do with that cave complex.

Wait a minute!

C2C has about 24 mintues of commercials, self promotions, news, sports, weather and whatnot for each 60 minutes.

24 minutes out of 60 of non-content for each hour of the show.

Odds are almost 50/50 that they will not be able to cover the landing live.

Just imagine, three minutes until touchdown and then suddenly every body function relief commercial will appear displacing the actual landing.

No thanks .....

NASA's Mars Science Laboratory carrying the Curiosity rover has separated from the cruise stage that carried it from Earth to the Red Planet.

Lots of high 5'ing - hope its not premature. Richard just reminded us "there are a million things that can go wrong" (but so far, everything seems to be going right).

Bloomberg TV carried the touchdown live. Apparently financial geeks and science geeks have at least SOME overlap! :)

The room just erupted - everyone hugging - jumping up and down . . ."half a million lines of code" . . . EVERYTHING WORKED! Curiosity has landed safely on Mars. Woo-hoo!

And C2C was in the middle of commercials, just perfect.
