Thanks, I've been looking for variations on bikes that can carry loads - such as Bob or Yak trailors, or pedicabs, or front and rear panniers. I think three-wheelers with solid tires might make the most sense in terms of durability and carrying really heavy loads.

looks a little dangerous with that baby up on the handle bars like that, I think I would choose to chaffeur my child around on a trike.

Bicycle trailers are not all made the same

I ordered a bike caboose for my bike. I'm going to use it to go the grocery store, library and wherever else I may go in town
Have you tried an example of that kind of bicycle cart? Some work better than others. I recommend Burley trailers to people because I know from having used and abused them in a wide variety of conditions and with a wide variety of loads that they do work.

I have tried other brands that did not work as well. A model from one particular brand was unstable and continuously threw me into ditches. EDIT: The name of this brand was KoolStop.

I will probably go to walmart and get one of those $75 mountain bikes with the fancy suspension, all I can afford.

Same here. That's what I have been thinking about as well. I have a BUNCH of old web gear bags and pouches and was considering jerry rigging those on there so I can carry stuff if need be.

I just don't have a thousand dollars or more to invest in a mountain bike rig right now.

you and me are on the same wavelength, I was looking at that bike also. I would really like one with front and rear disc brakes though.

what good is a refrigerator if you can nolonger afford electricity? if people have to ride bikes to function do you really think they will be able to afford the new outrageous elcetricity prices?

whats the advantage of buying online through walmart?

I don't really know. I have never bought online with them before. I just usually go to their website and browse items to see if they may have something before I actually take a trip to the store itself (I try to call the store to verify they have what I saw online). I have noticed that they carry some items online at supposedly larger discounts than instore pricing. So they say anyway...

Target has a nice schwinn and trailer on sale.

check them on line.

the schwinn model and the ez-go brand are made by ez-go. same exact product just different colors.

check the old threads for bike trailers. I bought a 2 seater for ~$170 delivered it will carry 100# .

I just need to orded spare hitches for the bike, we have several bikes in the family.

I was fortunate ... I managed to get a bike trailer through freecycle. It's the kind that holds children rather than heavy loads, but it'll take up to 100 lbs and will do for grocery runs or other errands, and the price was right!

Those Walmart bikes are junk from China - they're not too good from the beginning and break easily under stress. It's better to find a good used bike at a bike shop.

I'm not just saying that to knock Walmart, I buy most of my stuff there.
