Today is March 2. Outside Texas this is just another day but in Texas it’s Texas Independence Day. On March 2, 1836, while the 189-odd Texians, Tejanos, and European rebels (and a bunch from Tennessee, however you choose to classify them) were under Santa Anna’s brutal siege at the Alamo, Sam Houston, Lorenzo de Zavala, and other Texas leaders were holed up at Washington-on-the-Brazos. They were hashing out what to do, as one of the largest armies in the Americas, under the command of the self-styled “Napoleon of the West,” would soon bear down on them. The name of the town they met in ought to strongly hint to us today what the Texas revolution was all about. It would, but the cancelers have gone after George Washington.

The kids and grandkids of the American Revolution and their Tejano allies were fighting for individual liberty and federalism; Santa Anna was a dictator who had abrogated the republican constitution, betrayed the federalists, and would soon prove to be as bloody-minded as any warlord in history. Signing a declaration of independence against him was no small choice. In 1836 Texas it got you marked for death. Zavala was an experienced rebel by 1836, since he supported Mexico’s independence from Spain before signing on for Texas’ independence from Mexico. He’d help write the Texas constitution and become the Republic of Texas’ first vice president.

As we hit the 185th anniversary of Texas Independence and the fall of the Alamo, then the rise of Texas, we have a problem. Some are revising the story to put slavery front and center, when it was not. It was an issue, but not the primary issue. The Texas State Historical Association’s chief historian wants us to forget the Alamo and view its defenders — and their supporters now — as racists. Walter Buenger, Ph.D. and TSHA chief historian, recently slammed the Alamo as an insignificant battle then and a monument to white supremacy now. The facts don’t support that at all.

I reached out to the TSHA at the time Buenger made those comments and asked if it stands by his statement. TSHA provided a “no comment,” which as flacking goes, isn’t a rousing defense. Members protested by canceling and letting TSHA know why. I’ve heard from insiders that Buenger is woke and leading TSHA in that direction, which is well outside Texas’ mainstream.

Another problematic quote of his has recently come to light. In August 2020, Buenger said the following about the Alamo in an interview with HistoryNet:

Have you ever caught flak for your viewpoints? I always catch flak. One example: I often say that in 1836 the Alamo had a flat roof. That fancy top was added a decade later, and that’s a metaphor for understanding the Texas Revolution and much of Texas history: It’s been added on after the fact. The average student’s or average non-historian’s knowledge of Texas and U.S. history is heavily influenced by what someone wants to believe or what their ideology, status, or uncritical reading encourages them to believe. I take students and all who will listen back to 1836, and alert them to the dangers of listening to what was added on after the fact.
Somebody sure is adding something to history that wasn’t originally there. The Alamo church didn’t have a roof in 1836, as anyone who knows the Alamo much should know. The flat part he’s talking about is atop the façade above the main door, not the roof, and he’s right that the iconic hump was added in the 1840s. The U.S. Army added it to cover the gabled roof it had installed because there was no roof prior. So Buenger is bungling the facts a bit here to make his misleading political point and add his spin to Texas history long after the fact. Some of the greatest heroes of that war are the Tejanos, such as Damacio Ximenez, Juan Seguin, Jose Toribio Losoya (one of his descendants is currently on the city council), and Antonio Menchaca. We need to learn more about them and why they fought, and why several other Mexican states also rebelled against Santa Anna at the same time, which was not for “whiteness” or slavery as Buenger and some others allege.

Buenger wasn’t done.

Do some topics lend themselves more to interpretation than others? Capitalism, say, can be viewed from very different angles. Yes, of course. Many in the profession do argue about capitalism. I find the argument that enslaved labor was an extreme form of capitalism and a tool to reduce the cost of production to be a compelling one. Still, if you assume capitalism to have been built upon wage labor, elements of slavery are pre-capitalist.
One need not be a historian to know that slavery pre-dates the invention of capitalism by thousands of years. Buenger may be parroting some other social historians and ignoring a great deal of other scholarship. Slavery can be traced to ancient China, Mesopotamia, Greece, the Americas (the Aztecs and Mayans both practiced it, as did many other peoples of pre-Columbian America), Egypt, Rome, India, Europe, Africa, and nearly everywhere else people and cultures came into contact with one another. The Vikings took slaves. Biblical and other ancient texts speak of slavery’s existence throughout human history. Slavery long predates industrial production and predates the colonial period, long before anyone ever even thought of such a thing as America. Capitalism doesn’t even come along until the 16th through 18th centuries. Don’t take my word for it; look it up.

Buenger has no authority over the Alamo itself, and is not a specialist in the Alamo or the Texas Revolution. He’s a 20th-century social historian. None of his books are about the Alamo or the revolution, yet he offers much comment on it all and media provide him a platform. TSHA’s Handbook of Texas is considered authoritative and used by media and researchers any time Texas history is a topic. Buenger strongly influences that as its chief editor, and TSHA influences what is taught in Texas public schools.

So this is important. Cancel culture is real, as even Bill Maher recently admitted. Academic freedom is dying at the hands of critical race theory and cancel culture, which views history through a very narrow, modern Marxist lens that condemns capitalism but overlooks communism’s true, current slavery (in China, for instance), and ignores its ghastly historic body count. Academics, believing their own careers will be canceled, fear taking a stand against woke cancel culture. Buenger seems to be on the cancel side of ideological history, and thus should be of concern to Texans and anyone else who doesn’t want to see the Alamo canceled. It could be, by diminishing the battle and the revolutionaries who fell there and smearing them and Texas itself as irredeemably evil. Slapping it all with the “white supremacy” label is a step toward cancellation.

And then what? Statues of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, U.S. Grant, and others have been pulled down all over the country over the past year. The New York Times is still chipping away at America’s founding via its 1619 Project (which was debunked by the Smithsonian Magazine even before its publication) by pushing it into public schools. To believe that the Alamo is somehow immune from these cultural forces is deeply naïve. The cancel-minded would like nothing better than to cancel one of the world’s most potent symbols of the fight for freedom. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and a few others are standing up for the Alamo. More leaders and academics must, or they will have no one else to blame when the Alamo falls again.

Re: Responses to Texas Independence 2.0?

In 2017, the State of Texas announced that it would establish a gold vault and issue gold-backed trade notes (similar to the Dix or ‘Dixie’ of the 19th century.). Shortly thereafter, Hurricane Harvey was ‘generated’ from a relatively insignificant disorganized tropical depression in the Bay of Campeche to a Cat 4 storm which hit Corpus Christi, and remained stationary there for 2 days picking up 3 feet of the Gulf of Mexico and dropping it on SE Texas. According to Wikipedia, Harvey tied Katrina for the most costly hurricane in history.

Late in 2020, a bill was submitted to the Texas State Legislature, which if successfully enacted into law would call for a referendum of the people regarding the question of secession from the United States. Early in February 2021 in an unusual event, the polar vortex migrated deep into South Texas from the Artic resulting in near record or record temperatures and excessive damage. It resulted in a shutdown of one of the Texas nuclear plants, and its wind turbines that generated much of the State’s electricity. Further, a run on the supply of natural gas resulted in excessive costs and bankruptcies. The extent of the damage has yet to be determined.

Question: Were these events and their respective timing coincidences?

Bizarre Radar Anomaly Over Corpus Christi Texas 2 Days Before Harvey Landfall Indicates Mass Weather Modification Took Place
- With Warnings Of 'The Worst Still Yet To Come', Is This Proof The Catastrophe Was 'Man Made'?

By Stefan Stanford - All News Pipeline - Live Free Or Die

In the first video directly below published on August 23rd, our videographer shares with us a very strange anomaly he had recently picked up on his cell phone radar that just happened to appear directly over Corpus Christi, Texas on the 23rd, several days before Hurricane Harvey made its deadly landfall. As our videographer wisely asks in his video, "was there a connection between this 'anomaly' and the coming hurricane?"

As we can see in the 'anomaly' screenshot above and in the video below, this strange appearance of energy continuously flashes across his screen yet it was well ahead of the storm's landfall. The 'top rated' comment on the video:

"This is a HAARP injection. They have excited the upper atmosphere with energy and this is so when Hurricane Harvey shows up tomorrow or Saturday morning it will intensify instantly and become very deadly. HAARP is what the government uses to make man made weather. They used it with Katrina and Sandy..... We are being set up for a catastrophic weather event by our own government. I am glad you caught this....

I have caught these energy burst on radar many times. The deadly weather always happens 24-48 hours after the HAARP energy burst. These energy burst have happened before huge Tornado outbreaks and even flood events.... This is not a flash storm. It is energy being injected in the upper ionosphere which makes the upper ionosphere ready to pop when the storms roll through. In this case when Harvey rolls through. This is a great catch and I am sharing with all the people I know in Corpus. Great catch!!!"

While many will laugh when weather modification or weather warfare is mentioned, calling such now proven truth a 'tinfoil hat conspiracy theory', as we've reported time and again on ANP, we now have 100% proof of weather modification programs that has come to us from the mouths of people such as former CIA head John Brennan (who spoke about weather modification before the Council on Foreign Relations back on June 29th of 2016). And as we see outlined within this story, there is very good reason to believe that 'Hurricane Harvey' is a modified beast.

Before we go any further and look at all of the proof that 'weather modification' and 'weather warfare' are indeed very real, let's take a look at what was happening on radar prior to Hurricane Harvey making landfall. Are we witnessing weather modification before our very eyes? Much more below include a new video from Dane Wigington from the Geoengineering Watch website discussing Harvey as well as a look at a few potential reasons why Texas might be under weather warfare right now.

Weather Warfare in Texas – Snow That Doesn’t Melt – Dane Wigington

By Greg Hunter On February 27, 2021 In Politics 210 Comments

By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com (Saturday Night Post)
Climate engineering researcher Dane Wigington says the big snow storm that hit Texas and much of the south is nothing short of weather warfare. Look at the snow that won’t burn in video after video. It’s synthetic, but the mainstream media (MSM) is telling you this is a “hoax”. This is anything but normal. Wigington says, “The bottom line in regard to the flash freeze that Texas was just hit with, we can debate the agenda behind these operations, but the fact that this was not an act of nature is beyond scientific question. . . .Those neck deep in the weather modification program are dictating what the scheduled weather will be. Because of the illegal federal gag order on the National Weather Service and NOAA, our nation’s weather people are actually reading scripts given to them by the geo-engineers themselves. We announced on February 6, almost two weeks before this event happened, that this was coming. So, there is no question this was a massive act of weather warfare. This is only a mere extreme example of what’s been occurring all over the globe for decades. It’s getting worse all the time because the unfolding climate collapse is getting worse all the time. It’s being further fueled by climate engineering. Expect such events to continue and worsen rapidly.”

Snow that doesn’t melt? What a great story, and, yet, we hear nothing in the news except it’s “fake” or a “hoax”. Weather people must be getting lots of videos showing the Texas snow that won’t melt. Why the silence? Why is the (MSM) calling this a “hoax”? Don’t believe your lying eyes says the MSM!! Wigington says, “All these weather agencies and (MSM) sources’ main job is to cover the tracks of the geoengineering (artificial modification of the Earth’s climate). Can you imagine if people all over the globe woke up to the fact that their weather has been completely hijacked and derailed? Then every single weather cataclysm becomes suspect as a result of these operations. This is toxic. We are breathing in these particles of heavy metals, polymers and surfactants. This hurts our immune system and makes us more susceptible to pathogens like CV19. Can you imagine if populations were awakened to the fact that they were doing this to them without their knowledge or consent? They are subjecting them to an experiment for which there is no return. GeoengineeringWatch.org is not a political organization. We are only trying to awaken people to the fact that we are under a very real and immediate assault. . . .The Texas Gulf Coast was recording temperatures that were 30 degrees colder than what was being recorded at the North Pole, and we are not being told that.”

Just when you thought it could not get worse, it does. Did geoengineering (commonly referred to as chemtrails) play a role in the CV19 so-called “Plandemic”? Wigington says yes, and he says, “Just look at the facts.” Wigington explains, “When you look at this statistically, you had 85 countries infected over the course of three days. That does not fit into any known model for a pathogen to spread that rapidly. There were different strains showing up in different regions. . . .The notion that this just spread by itself to that degree does not match any statistical possibility.”
Wigington backs up what he says with data, video and pictures of extreme weather caused by geoengineering. Wigington cites just one of thousands of examples on his site and says, “At GeoEngineeringWatch.org, you can search the ‘engineering winter’ section and look at the images we have. For example: 75 pound ice balls that are perfectly spherical ice balls on the shores of Lake Michigan, Baltic Sea and Arctic Sea in waters that are far too warm to support ice. In Lake Michigan, we had 40 pound ice balls in water that was 40 degrees. How can that possibly happen? We have pictures of Boston Harbor slushed over with ice where the sea water was 40 degrees as well. Sea water does not freeze until 28.4 degrees. How can this happen on this water body? It’s because of chemically nucleated dispersions. We are simply asking people to look at the data. Look at the patents. . . . One of their primary goals is to mask the severity of the environmental collapse from the population until the last possible minute to keep the population from panicking. They are so desperate to do this. . . .”

Trump Briefed on “Weather Warfare” in Texas
By
Michael Baxter
-
February 17, 2021

As Texans froze in Uri’s icy grip, President Donald Trump in balmy Florida entertained an unexpected visitor, a physicist who was once at the top of his list—albeit a short one—for chief scientific advisor to the president, according to a source in Trump’s orbit speaking under promise of anonymity.

Dr. William Happer, Professor Emeritus at Princeton University, is an American physicist who has specialized in the study of atomic physics, optics, and spectroscopy. From 1991-1993, he served as director of the Department of Energy’s Office of Science under George W. Bush’s administration, but was fired in late 1993 by the Clinton administration after he failed to convince Bill that science behind the global warming movement was deeply flawed. In short, Dr. Happer has unimpeachable credentials and a stellar history of academic excellence.

Happer went to Mara-a-Lago with a warning. He told Trump neither mother nature nor fictitious tales of earth-shattering climate change was responsible for the storm that had brought the Lone Star State to its knees; a fifth of the state’s electricity transmission plants collapsed and over four million Texans froze in the dark, many without water too.

Dr. Happer, our source said, told Trump the Biblical storm was a product of “weather warfare.” A technology called HAARP, Happer said, had been weaponized and directed at Texas, possibly as a warning to Republican states that have eschewed Biden’s Covid-19 policies and promised to fight his dissection of the 2nd Amendment.

HAARP is an acronym for High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program, ostensibly a scientific research program to study the properties and behavior of the ionosphere through use of directed microwave frequency. Many scholars over the years have questioned the ethics of HAARP, noting its technology could easily be weaponized, and the government claimed to have shuttered the program in 2013 in response to promulgation of bad press and conspiracy theories.

Happer claimed “whispers in the scientific community” suggested Biden had perverted desires to teach Red states a lesson by way of unconventional warfare. He speculated that “Biden’s people” had seized the HAARP research facility in Gakona, Alaska and “turned up the juice” to disrupt, manipulate, and reposition the Jet Stream to center an arctic front over Texas.

Our source said Trump, who has been falsely accused of disliking science, expressed interest in Happer’s theory but questioned how the attack could be considered a warning if Biden had not actually warned anyone about an attack, impending or otherwise.

“It’s not like Sleepy Joe called Greg[Abbott], a good man and a really great governor, and said play ball with me or else, or called Ron [DeSantis], another great governor, and said we just screwed Texas, you’re next,” Trump reportedly said.

“Are you sure they weren’t notified?” Happer asked.

“I’m sure. I talk to these guys every day. Every day. And I think this is something they would’ve told me. We’re working together, you know,” Trump said.

Happer admitted he didn’t have all the answers, but he assured Trump that Texas’s location relative to the Southern Hemisphere and the equator absolutely precluded any chance that Uri was a naturally occurring meteorological phenomena.

“It is impossible, Mr. Trump. Right here, Florida, could be his next target,” Happer opined.

Our source said the meeting ended with Trump saying he’d take the matter under advisement and convene a council of scientists and military experts to corroborate Happer’s hypothesis.

Correction: Our copy editor, apparently stuck in the past or has dementia, mistakenly misquoted Trump as saying Rick Perry is the current governor of Texas. The mistake has been corrected, and we appologize for the mistake.

Texas Faces New Power Crisis: Prices Soar 10,000% As ERCOT Power Conservation Amid Grid 'Emergency'
by Tyler Durden
Tuesday, Apr 13, 2021

Texas' power grid operator, Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which came under immense pressure months ago for mishandling the historic winter storm in mid-February, urged customers Tuesday afternoon to "reduce their electricity use" as a cold front swept through, causing power demand to spike.

ERCOT told customers to please "conserve energy at this time. Consumers and businesses are urged to reduce their electricity use this afternoon and into the evening."

Texas' power grid operator also said:

"Due to a combination of high gen outages typical in April & higher-than-forecasted demand caused by a stalled cold front over TX, ERCOT may enter emergency conditions.
With a cold front moving through the Lone Star state some generation units were already down for repair work. Bloomberg reports one spot price for Texas power jumped as much as 10,000% on Tuesday.
