Sent a note to my doctor. ( I do a lot of that), cc to DW. She comes in to ask if I really had written that note.
I looked at it. The phrasing had been changed but luckily the information conveyed and requested had not. It was quite obviously not my writing. However, the copy in my computer had not been changed. So I sent it again and it went through pure as far as we could tell.
While I am contemplating this, an "all points" signal arrives from an acquaintance of my DW. It told us she was not being held for ransom, she was at home, do not send money to anybody.
I felt a bit disappointed that I did not get a ransom demand because apparently a lot of people did.
Some years ago, I got a signal that my cousin was stranded in Scotland,lost all his money but had his passport. Needed airfare home. Well, I have known him since the Dawn of Time and one thing for sure. He would never take a trip to Scotland. So I let him know his email directory had been compromised and sure enough, he was home.
It is amazing what modern tech can do.
