FOOD Grocery Shopping at your local Homeland Security Outlet

With new agency streamlining and the Protecting American Agriculture Act last vestiges of agriculture are integrating into Department of Homeland Security as early as the new year. Can't you just 'feel' those TSA agencies groping as you enter the DHS grocery outlet? Going for groceries will no longer be a mindless task it is going to become an experience you will ever forget. The Act carries with it other implications for the person growing his or her own food.

Who is this Celeste? This is the second post from you I've read today that's copying Celeste's information, but without knowing who it is, there's no credibility.
Link to public info please?

I give up.
There's tons of stuff on the net about it. Here's the Wiki entry. Note what they have to say about it, although it's quite extensive at their site:

Are YOU Celeste? If so, maybe I'm confused. Your board name is david..... but the two articles are signed Celeste. With a 64 post count, it appeared that "david" was posting info written by someone named Celeste. If you're posting an article, you should let us know where the info is coming from so we can research to find out if its legit. Oh, never mind. Disregard.

I am Celeste. My email/user name is davidinthewilderness because I am live in the wilderness, easy to remember and all (to many user names and passwords in this world for my liking). I can't recall why I chose that user name, maybe the one I wanted was already taken.

I am a document person and all articles I write are from official documents or governmental or military websites, most of the time I provide links. Sometimes like this morning, I just put the information up knowing everybody is busy this week, and knowing this group is proficient using search engines.

I apologize. I will always include links if it is something that has a link. I do always sign my name Celeste so people know who did the post.

Does anyone know how to change a user name on TB?

Thank you for any help you can provide! I can do documents but technology, nada. (That is why I don't insert images into my posts).

I DID catch that. Sort of assumed it was a husband/wife team or something. Or maybe a biblical reference.

Still, your articles on the licensing/regulation of small farm produce/livestock have been of interest. Particularly the livestock part since I are one. Not that it would affect me directly. More Owner since he's the one who will have to keep track/records/report/suffer inspections/pay penalties etc., etc.

I've told my story a couple of instances about the difference in opinion between the "horsey set" visitors and owner. No doubt if a difference of opinion exists among two humans of similar equine interest - who knows what differences of opinion will occur between an owner/user and a bureaucrat with a rulebook made by "experts."

No matter. Your interest is my interest. And your links of my interest too. And your thoughts are my thoughts as well.

And don't necessarily change your nom-de-plume. Owner calls me "Dobbin" and I'm locally known by that name. But my initial application for board membership might not have flown with that common horse name. I wasn't sure. So I chose "Joe" short for "Joey." Joey was given me at the UNH Large Animal Clinic because I was a "bouncy" colt - much akin to a kangaroo - commonly called a "Joey."

I'd let your name ride. (Snicker.)

To add images do it like this {img}URL of an image on the 'net somewhere{/img}

Instead of left and right {} use left and right brackets [] on both ends.

And the image has to be out there on the 'net somewhere.

Take a look at the page http://www.free-extras.com/images/mare-8480.htm

Right click the pix and select properties. You see "view image info" One of these is "Location" and http://images.pictureshunt.com/pics/m/mare-8480.jpg

If you put this location between brackets above you get below...

mare-8480.jpg

Or (easier actually) use the third icon from the right on the bunch of icons provided at the "edit post" page. A blow down box will occur where you can put in the URL directly.

OBTW, this is my current desktop background. Quite a looker ain't she? Priscilla over in Brentwood, NH has this "come hither" look.

Thanks Joe first good laugh of the day!
If the questions aren't too personal, how many hands tall are you and what is your (if you will pardon the expression) breed.
:spns:

I have a friend with a farm (about 180 acres). Mostly corn and soybeans. He has gotten rid of all livestock (cows, sheep, and chickens) but, may get a few of the "mini-cattle" in the spring. With all the new regs he is rethinking even that.
Makes me sad. Worries me too.

A Fan,
Jeff

Nice to meet you Celeste!
Thats my first borns middle name.

Damn Joe, that's a beautiful horse. The owner must have a dickens of a time keeping the white parts white, cuz I know horses like to play in the dirt from time to time.

Celeste, you don't need to change your user name. You can go to Settings (up above on this page) and put something like, "I am Celeste" in your Edit Signature. That way it will appear on every post you make from now on.

Also, Kitty is correct. I love Grantbo's: "I am Grantbo" (which was how he originally tagged all his posts. Lots of us thought that was funny as hell, even though, well, redundant - lol.)

Not too personal. Click on my avatar and you come to my personal pages which will tell you everything you need to know.

Breed apart. Kidding. Actually not known for sure. Mostly Clydesdale (scottish) but either my sire or dam was something else. "Mom" I knew but we were separated early so I don't remember much. I think I was a "mistake" actually. My coloring is not right and the size a bit "tall" and lank for consideration as a purebred clyde. Counting UNH, Owner is my third owner. The middle gentleman is who "imprinted" me to humans. VERY gentle man so the same is appropriate.

And in keeping with my breed I'm gentle (and polite) too.

Yup. She's somebody's pet for sure. Doesn't even have the "wear ring" around the neck from the horse collar. A little tubby perhaps, but that makes for good ground for planting seed. (IYKWIM) I'd REALLY like to find a pix of her rear 3/4 view. But alas.

If you want to see how someone else did something, whether it's a link or a picture or text formatting, do a ReplyWithQuote on their post, and then look at the reply box to see how they did it.

Copying the work of others is a time-honored tradition.

Joe,

Your horse is beautiful! I would love a horse. But...I am a lowly goat herder and chicken appreciator.

A true funny story. When I got into the food-fight I was talking with a gal for the longest time about our mutual concerns regarding all the new regs (this was years ago). She rambled on and on about horse this, and horse that. About 45 minutes into the conversation I said something about my goats. There was a long.... silence. She said, "Oh, you raise g.o.a.t.s....." We went on to engage in many legislative adventures from pre-dawn secret Legislative meeting busts, to cornering the governor and Prime Ministers, walking out on CommieTTEE Chairs which their mouths gaping open. The joys....the defeats... goat herder's and horse-breeder's fighting together for liberty in the marbled halls.

Those were the days....

I copied the way you did yours and put something to the effect of, "This is Celeste." I like your graphic :-) I worked on my bio and Avatar and think I got an Avatar up....that is pushing the limit for my technical expertise.
