We just got our electric bill for last month. $46 which is about what we always pay, winter or summer.

It has been my mom's experience, when trying to save money on her electric bill, to use several electric fans instead of her ac. When she would get her electric bill, it was just as high as if she had been using her ac. Sometimes, using electric fans use just as much electricity, especially, if you are using more than one. The fans run continually where as the ac cuts on and off as the house heats and cools.
We found that one out also.

What worked for us was to get a Kill-a-watt tester. It told us where our biggest consumption was. Charted it over several months and now we are averaging $125 dollars per month last year.

This year has been $120 per month so far, but summer just got here.

So far, ours hasn't gone over $100. We use the ac very little, but use only one fan. It stays around $50 during the winter, because our use of electricity goes way down. We heat and do a lot of our cooking with wood. We also heat a lot of our water with the wood heater/stove. LED lights, but use very little of those.
