CHAT Got a new security cam today

Picked up an Amcrest outdoor security cam. Mounted it under the eaves by the garage door. I was unhappy with my indoor one. At night, the night vision LEDs would reflect off the window glass, rendering it useless after dark. This one won’t have that issue. Plus, it has a “night range” of 100’. I must’ve poured over 100 cameras’ specs. This one isn’t perfect either, but it’s a decent compromise. $50 from Amazon. Model ASH22-W

Note: this camera is 120v rather than battery powered. I have it set to record 24/7. You can’t do that with a battery unit. I also have a 128GB micro-SSD on-board for backup.

Pore over vs. pour over
The phrase meaning to study carefully is pore over. It comes from a little-used sense of the verb pore—namely, to meditate deeply. In modern writing, this sense of pore rarely appears outside this phrase.

Pour over is of course a meaningful phrase in its own right, but it has nothing to do with studying. It’s what you do, for example, with milk to a bowl of cereal.

Interesting. I had to stop and think before posted, and when I thought of “pore,” the only thing that came to mind were the pores in one’s body. Thus I used the other one.
LOL! I have the same issue with "right to bear arms." I know it's right, but I always envision a bear and it doesn't sound right. :hmm: Almost as funny as the folks here who use "right to bare arms." :D

I might look into that camera. Heard good things about them. I'm dissatisfied with my RING cams.

If you like the camera and get more, the amcrest and foscams from Amazon work real well with the blue iris software. It’s a control panel/dvr program that is very customizable. I use it and highly recommend it.

We have 2 Lorex system, I have views of all directions of house and garage. If the dogs start in at night I just look at cameras on my phone.

I've found the new Wyze v3 indoor/outdoor to be the best so far. I've got ~12. Picture quality is amazing, and I've never seen better night/low light performance at any reasonable price.
