Beginning in September, Google plans to block firearm, ammunition, and gun accessory ads.

According to Google Support's "Dangerous Products or Services" page, the company "[wants] to keep people safe both online and offline, so [they] won't allow the promotion of some products or services that cause damage, harm, or injury."

Included in the dangerous products for which ads will be blocked are "Guns & Parts." This covers "functional devices that appear to discharge a projectile at high velocity, whether for sport, self-defense, or combat."

Also included is a ban on ads for "any part or component that's necessary to the function of a gun or intended for attachment to a gun." This covers "gun scopes, ammunition, ammunition clips or belts."

The ban will also halt ads for "dangerous knives... throwing stars, brass knuckles, [and] crossbows," among other things.

Google Support says the ads that will be banned "are subject to change."

I totally support the ability of a private enterprise to operate their business as they please.

Now, naturally these people are assholes, and those who are pleased with this nonsense are assholes.

There was an apropos South Park episode that defined liberals quite accurately. They are enamored of the smell of their own farts.

Restriction of interstate trade? Oh I forgot no laws here unless the imposter in chief wants to enforce them.

Yet ANOTHER reason to not use Google. Ef them and their libtard agenda.

If Google wants to make the world a better place they should do something useful like trying to fix the homeless and jobless situation in this country....no, they are typical lefty tyrants; power gone to their heads.

I use Yahoo and Bing anyway. They think they are so smart, they are going to lose a couple of million of their subscriber base when the NRA crowd gets wind of it.

Also add diet pills and other diet aides onto that list. And they also need to add all the foods and chemicals that some people are allergic to.

I don't use Google as a default search engine, but use Bing and I know many websites take on advertisement and it all come threw Google.

Google is a private business who is opting to NOT accept advertising from a specific segment.
I don't see them restricting Search results, just paid advertisements.

Shouldn't we be banning Politicians and all Political Ads?

Seems like more people die through the corrupt actions of politicians than any other way.

Don’t let the Piss Ants get you down…
It's a good thing that Google isn't the only search engine, huh?

Maureen

Yep. And, as folks find the they can't locate what they want, they will find and use another search engine. Google may find that it's hard to get back what you once had. They can also ask Yahoo about that.

Google archives everything you do/send/visit via their service. Your emails, everything. And, of course, they protect your privacy, and you can keep your insurance.
