Is there a reason why there is a google search engine link at the top of the page on the TB2K logo?

I use many search engines for different things but I just hate google, for many reasons, one being its data mining. Not to mention the google motto of "Do No Evil", it is like an attorney saying "Trust me on this".

Not to seem to complain and not offer an option but www.dogpile.com does not taylor its search response to you like google does.

Just wondering.

Going to be honest. After using a few programs to track who was data mining me on various sites, it turned out that Google was a minor player. Same for Facebook and YouTube. They talk to each other and that's about it. There are easily dozens of "unknown" data mining companies that tag on to you on even the most innocent sites and they track you through a whole lot more. I finally had to make some additional changes to how my browser is set up.

I'm not saying google is the only bad actor out there, many are much much worse.

We've had this exact discussion a dozen times or more. It was never intended that people click the link. It's a placeholder when I removed a different link, so the HTML would render properly.

Nothing more.
