No I don't. I guess I'll make a tincture and order some more. I could use it in tea too I guess. I need to read more closely before I hit buy now....Do you have a vitamix? Thats about the only kitchen tool I can think of that might grind it for you...
Summerthyme
It is dried. I'll try the coffee grinder in a small batch. Thank you for that idea. We can do tincture or tea. I just want some capsules for dd.You might have to do it in stages. But, first, is this already dried? Because if it is, Summerthyme pretty much has it right.
I am in SE. And I can put it under very old silver maples to get its prefer situation. But I know my luck starting hard to grow seeds. But did find rhizomes at 2 trusted suppliers. So one batch a year until I fill in the spot I'll make for it.Golden seal is native to the SE US and grows under forest canopy. Rico Cech has done some experimentation growing it in the pacific Northwest under shade cloth, but I don't know of his success rate. You MIGHT be able to get plants from him at
If you don't live in the SE, I would use other plants that contain high levels of berberine (if you are looking for antimicrobial actions) like oregon grape root, yellow dock (not the best choice) or barberry.
I am trying to convert the whole yard to food or medicinal plants. I have ginseng seed dropped two years in a row now. Ginger, turmeric, and a few others. Tbh, if I can get the rhizomes, it'll join a few other crops to be left alone unless they're needed. We need more people that don't look at things and just see a weed, or a way to make money by overharvesting. thank you!
I've never had a colonoscopy to be sure, but I've had the symptoms of diverticulitis, moderate with bleeding. I read about treatment with higher dose probiotics. I tried taking 3 caps three times a day. Within a day I had improvement and within about 3 days it had resolved. Just sharing in case someone ever needs an at home treatment.I was going to suggest the coffee grinder also.
I take it in capsule form. It is an extremely good antibiotic!! My doctor actually told me about it. I needed something for a sinus infection and since there are not many antibiotics that I can take, he suggested goldenseal root. It's also worked for mild diverticulitis, though you have to take quite a bit.
