I got much of this information from other sites and parsed it all together for reading here. There are .gov and other links to verify on your end in the body of this post:
The Global Poverty Act is now being rushed through Congress. (was introduced in the 110th Congress, but now they have the votes to put it through) One of the "hidden" provisions in this Act is it will place the United States Military under UN rule.
This will undoubtedly affect this particular OBAMA MILATIARY case, wouldn't it?
Though the constitutional encroachment is not explicit in the proposed law, it is really a sneaky way for the United States to sign onto the United Nations Millennium Declaration and its goals which will have a drastic affect on our independence and freedom.
S2433, 111th Congress is a continuation of the Global Poverty Act that Obama has been sponsoring since 2007. He originally had 9 co-sponsors, and now he has 30. It appears that most of the House representatives didn't realize what was in it. Congressional sponsors have been careful not to calculate the amount of foreign aid spending that it would require.

The following summary is provided by the Congressional Research Service, which is a nonpartisan government entity that serves Congress and is run by the Library of Congress. The summary is taken from the official website THOMAS. 4/24/2008--Reported to Senate amended.
“Global Poverty Act of 2007 - Directs the President, through the Secretary of State, to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the U.S. foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people, between 1990 and 2015 …” (emphasis added)
More specifically, the act would require the United States strategy to contain specific and measurable goals and to consist of specified components, including:
“(1) continued investment or involvement in existing U.S. initiatives related to international poverty reduction and trade preference programs for developing countries; (2) improving the effectiveness of development assistance and making available additional overall United States assistance levels as appropriate; (3) enhancing and expanding debt relief as appropriate; (4) mobilizing and leveraging the participation of businesses and public-private partnerships; (5) coordinating the goal of poverty reduction with other internationally recognized Millennium Development Goals; (6) integrating principles of sustainable development and entrepreneurship into policies and programs.”
In addition to seeking to eradicate poverty, through adherence to the Millennium Development Goals, that declaration commits nations to banning “small arms and light weapons” and ratifying a series of treaties, including the International Criminal Court Treaty, the Kyoto Protocol (global warming treaty), the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. All these treaties involve seriously relinquishing sovereign, and in our case Constitutional, rights.
Under the law, the president is required to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to carry out that policy, Includes guidelines for what the strategy should include--from aid, trade, and debt relief, to working with the international community, businesses and NGOs, to ensuring environmental sustainability; requires that the President’s strategy include specific and measurable goals, efforts to be undertaken, benchmarks, and timetables and; requires the president to report back to Congress on progress made in the implementation of the global poverty strategy.
Note: If additional global warming legislation is enacted, we may soon be printing money to burn just to stay warm. Obama’s assault on the economy is perfectly timed to coincide with the American recession.
In addition to the economic burdens this potential law would place on our precarious economy, the bill would also endanger our constitutionally protected rights and freedoms by obligating us to meet certain United Nations mandates. These constitutional intrusions on U.S. sovereignty don’t bother Obama; according to Obama, “We should establish these United Nations' goals as benchmarks for U.S. spending.”
So, the bottom line is this "Global Recovery Act" will give our President and Secretary of State the power to make sure the United States plays by the UN rules.
Again, this bill will obligate the U.S. to adhere to the Millennium Development Goals, the declaration that commits nations to banning “small arms and light weapons” ( This also means that IF the US comes under UN control, that the US military will attack Israel with other countries when they come against Israel.) and ratifying a series of treaties, including the International Criminal Court Treaty, the Kyoto Protocol (global warming treaty), the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. All these treaties involve seriously relinquishing sovereign, and in our case Constitutional, rights.

The bottom line:
These goals include a "standing peace force" (i.e. a U.N. standing army), a "U.N. Arms register" of all small arms and light weapons, "peace education" covering "all levels from preschool through university," and "political control of the global economy." The goals call for implementing all U.N. treaties that the United States has never ratified, all of which set up U.N. monitoring committees to compromise American sovereignty.
The goals call for implementing ******all********** U.N. treaties
that the United States has never ratified, all of which set up U.N. monitoring committees to compromise American sovereignty
that includes any veto protecting Israel from un resolutions

Additionaly, The Hawaiian Ceded Lands case is being debated at this very moment in SCOTUS. The news, as of yesterday, was that hints were made by several Justices that they may be referring the case back to the Hawaiian Supreme Court - thus claiming they, the US Supreme Court, do not have jurisdiction; and IF SCOTUS has no juridiction on this one then it is a defacto admission that Hawaii is not even a US Territory let alone a State.
We've known this for awhile now. Obama had the whole thing on his Senate Website, no one would believe me and no one would go check it out. They've been waiting for a Democrat Senate to finalize all sorts of agreements that Clinton started. Why do you think the UN wanted .77 of the bail-out money? That's basically what they wanted for the Global Poverty Act (.07% of the US GDP - we currently give a little over .033%), coincidentally Obama repeatedly said he wanted to double the amount of foreign aid the US gave - in fact even when asked what he'd cut from his campaign due to the economic crisis he kept defending the increase in foreign aid. He's been pretty clear about his agenda if you ever bothered to look at the things he backed - instead of his vague messages of Hope & Change. In the many "treaties" he will probably back door in during his administration you will find UN control - and UN regulations that trump the constitution, and when your rights are taken away Obama will say "I'm not the one doing it....the UN is" , National Disarmament is a condition for participating states in one such "treaty," which won't be marketed as a treaty and therefore not really debated and/or voted on.
No one will listen to the dangers of increased PPP's either (Public/Private Partnerships), but in time many will be screaming "Why didn't anyone say anything about this?."
Enjoy the show - you're paying for it after all.
