Apparently overpaid spoiled athletes kneeling during the National Anthem while shoving Marxism down their fans throats isn’t a successful strategy.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals lost half of 2019’s audience — and that’s WITH China puppet LeBron James playing.

2019 NBA Finals viewership was already down because of one Canadian team and LeBron James did not play due to injuries.

The NBA Finals tipped off a few months late in 2020, and boy do the earliest TV ratings reflect the affects of coronavirus. Game 1 of the 2020 NBA Finals settled for a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 5.3 million total viewers. Now, those averages will rise significantly when final Nielsen data becomes available, but they are currently about half of what last year’s comparable preliminary data estimated for ABC. Mind you, that’s WITH the return of LeBron James to the Finals.

That's a hard crash! They may be too dumb to realize nobody's watching their performance, though.

I know I'm not watching. Even without the BLM crap, I have no interest in watching ESPN fawn over crybaby LeBron James and any team from Los Angeles.

They are under contract to pay tv networks in CASH or make up time if the nba can't deliver certain numbers or demographics like x number of aged 24 to 49 .
The tv advertisers get free ads if the networks can't deliver the right numbers.
Bottom line here, Red Baron is the nba is going to have no clout to negotiate the next tv contract.

I read just the other day that the NFL is floating the notion to -double- their current rights fee with the networks.

There could be a major war brewing over tv sports soon?

I think the days of the multiple billion dollar nfl/nba viewing rights contracts arr kaput. It is upon these mega advertising based contracts that generate the salary pool for the players. I think the mimimum yearly nba contract is $300,000. and they even have daily and weekly contracts for players. The REAL salary fireworks will come when the nba either tries to renegotiate Lebaron's current million plus cntract, or they offer him $1 million for the next season. Man, that pimp will go nuts.

I did not mind playing pick up ball growing up. Loved to watch college BBall but could never get into Pro's. No loss for me and the quicker they tank the better.
