Trump Files Early With FEC For 2020 Candidacy, Outmaneuvers Nonprofits

by William Craddick
Jan 30, 2017

A document from the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) indicates that Donald Trump took steps last week to outmaneuver nonprofit organizations, leaving them unable to officially campaign against him over the next few years of his Presidency.

Filed on January 20th, 2017, the letter states that, while not an official announcement for reelection, Donald Trump has filed an FEC Form 2 in order to "ensure compliance with the Federal Election Campaign Act." This is an unprecedented, although legal, move for the President to make. Barack Obama did not file for his 2012 re-election bid until April 2011. Having filed (even if not formally announcing a bid) as a candidate, Trump would be able to coordinate with PACs and other similar organizations.

More importantly, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations would no longer be able to engage in "political speech" which could theoretically affect the results of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election without running the risk of losing their nonprofit status. The move effectively bars interest groups from creating nonprofits which they could funnel money into for the purposes of opposing Trump's initiatives. This will likely create chaos for political opponents of Trump such as George Soros, who has sunk significant amounts of money into various nonprofit groups with the intent of opposing Trump's government. How 501(c)(3) organizations will comply with the FEC's regulations when participating an actions which qualify as political speech remains to be seen.

The move is consistent with Trump's campaign promises to reduce the financial influence of private special interest groups on Washington.

Amazing loophole

Whats next !!

Trump wins 43 states in November 2020? (With 3 states conceivably not voting due to being in turmoil/reduced to Territory status, one of which would be California, it'd easily be the biggest landslide since Reagan in 1984.)

The man is a consummate chess player and is always thinking several steps ahead. A lot of the 'news' reports of disarray and turmoil within the administration and the roll out of various initiatives is just phog. So far he has played his hand exceedingly well.

Wow. First thing in the morning, and already winning! It makes it hard to sleep at night, wondering what is going to be waiting for us in the morning.

This man is playing World Class Chess, while the opposition is struggling with a game of checkers. My vote for the Trump Train was a wise vote.

I saw this post from another site which I thought was great and is a chat between Donald and Melania:

How was your day today honey?
Oh, it was just awesome! I fired two assistant attorneys generals, reinstated 23 flag officers, pardoned Assange and Snowden, legalized weed and right after I finish my ice cream sundae I'm going to take a shower, put on a nice clean starched shirt, go down to the Oval Office and **** with some more people until about midnight. God I love this job.

One thinks Trump will CERTAINLY be put forth as 2017 "Time Magazine Man of the Year."

And its possible to have TWO successive years?

The first question I have is does anyone know why the chair President Trump (I never get tired of typing that) is sitting in is a bit ragged? Is it a prop, is it a chair of historical significance in the White House?

Secondly, and on point, there are still 501(c)(4) groups to contend with. They are allowed to to participate in politics, so long as politics does not become their primary focus. They must spend less than 50 percent of their revenue on politics. However, they can spend right up to the line and can therefore influence elections, which they typically do through advertising.

The advantage is that 501(c)(4)s do not need to disclose their donors (think Soros).

It's different than a Super PAC whereas they do need to disclose their donors.

However, knocking out the 501(c)(3)s is one helluva punch to the pocket book of these orgs.

I know nothing about these matters so this is factor to consider. But if the 501(c)(4)s are limited to 50% then they will have to spend twice as much to get the bang for the buck that they had with the 501(c)(3)s.

I am going to have to shut the computer off and go for a lie down in a quiet room. The laughter is really starting to hurt.

The rest of us can help the demise of these non-profits by NOT giving them any money. Even the environmental organizations politick. Keep your charity local; support the Salvation Army - who are on the front lines of the homeless, substance abuse, and natural disasters actually helping people - not just fundraising.

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
I wonder what is written on the back of that chair towards the top center. Looks like a subliminal word in there?

As to Trump, he has put together one hell of a team to come up with the strategy he is forcing within the bounds of law. As much as the left wants to cry, he's doing it all legally, with precedent set by the left foremost. It's an amazing thing, this new administration. If war is on the horizon, I would not want to be an adversary. This also makes the sneak attack by Russia (Dudeman) even more likely and plausible.

Winning ways are such a breath of fresh air. Stopping the left in it's tracks, spewing what is shaking from their bodies is grade A Oscar level theatre.

As the Hollywood propaganda team is called upon, and outing themselves in this process. It's all so beautiful. Thank you Lord Jesus.
