CRIME Fung Advisory: Minneapolis police tell residents to obey criminals and prepare to be robbed

.22 mag is at least equivalent to a .38, and you can practice with shorts or subsonic longs without bothering people. A .22 mag derringer is a common cop backup gun, or it was last I checked.

Coupl'a things. It's at best a stretch to say the .22 Mag is equivalent to a .38. Lots of variables there. Also, .22 shorts and longs will fire in a .22 Mag chamber, but it's a bad practice. The .22 Mag case is physically larger in diameter than .22 short, long and long rifle cases. Firing the slightly smaller cases in a .22 Mag often results in split cases, excessive fouling and - over time - possible scarring of the .22 Mag's chamber walls.

The Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) told residents they should “be prepared” to hand over their phones, wallets, and purses to robbers.

well maybe they do need to be defunded
it looks like they have already been "de-nutted"
Actually it sounds like it is time to rob the police and get some decent weapons, etc. Some has a job to do. why waste materials.

Any time the police announce that they can't do their job, I always wonder why it seems to occur to no one that that also means they can't stop you from killing anyone who even vaguely threatens you.

The smaller case might not expand enough to seal, and you'll get a little gas to the rear and a bit more dirt. I have yet to have a split case. The smaller brass might not extract well, partly because it might cock sideways a bit during extraction, and escape the extractor. I presume muzzle velocity is lower, since the powder has a bigger space to fill. I don't know if gas blows by the bullet enough to matter.

I'm not recommending it as a standard course, simply saying it's workable.

Un-spun
Worst advice ever. In this climate, I see any face-to-face crime as more about an opportunity for humiliation than about stealing cash. These people don't need our money - they shoplift and loot, welfare covers the rest. The money isn't where the fun is.

Compliance is only going to feed that. Comply with a car-jacking?? OMG! I want to remember that young couple from TN, if it happens to me.

In my very limited experience with violence, hate can allow one to overcome fear - quite effectively, infact.
Interesting how we are constantly being told not to "hate."

My father used to carry a throw down wallet filled with pesos when he worked in West Oakland as an opening diversion.

Here's a thought, how are TPTB in Minneapolis and nationally going to spin things when the Somalians there in Minneapolis "fill the vacuum" in the criminal justice system? Particularly if they go old school sharia on the natives?

This is so pathetic. I have a call into my sister, who is a die-hard dem. They used to live in Mpls, now are east of St.Paul. Very curious as to what she will say about this. I know she will defend it in some way...
I am sorry...I love my sister dearly, but she is so unaware of my reality. I try to say some things, but I just get cut off and talked over. It is difficult to have a conversation with her. Her answer for what the MPLS police said was, "well it is summer, and crime always goes up in the summer, so they are just having folks be careful." Then she shut down the conversation. It is frustrating for me, because I am concerned about her.

Ok, I am slowly getting into 22 wmr/magnum stuff cause I got some ammo but have not really been able to find anything due to the shortage. I got a bolt action in the back of the safe from years ago at least.

I am going to somewhat compare running smaller 22lr or shorts or longs in the 22wmr stuff as folks who have put a 9mm round of ammo in their 40cal glock and fired said round. The extractor holds the round in place and they do tend to go off and accuracy is meh cause the round is not enjoying that rifling very much.

Not something to consider doing all the time, but if you got a glock for a survival gun some folks consider this something worth knowing.

True... But they still can track you down and prosecute you...so far, I'm not seeing calls to refund the investigatory departments, although they are ultimately the ones who end up getting the evidence that puts all those innocent, good, hardworking black boys and young men in jail.

True. But last I knew, investigating such an event after the fact is much, much less likely to have an impact than stopping it as it's happening.
