BRKG Freight train derails in Pennsylvania

HAZELWOOD, Pa. — Emergency crews are on the scene of a train derailment near Pittsburgh.

KDKA-TV reports emergency dispatchers say the freight trail derailed a short time ago.

Ten cars are off the track.

We are told most of the train cars empty.

There are no reported injuries.

Derailments with fright cars happen almost every day with very little damage and rarely injury. Going 106 MPH on a 50 MPH curve carrying 200+ people does not happen.

I agree! Something strange about that Amtrak train wreck. Why would a train engineer wait to the last few minutes, to slow a train down for a curve that was coming up? Plus, the brakes failed!
