I'm about to print some of these out for the pears I'm putting up so I thought I'd bump this back to the top.

I write on the lids with a black marker. Mainly because when I've had a jar with a label stuck on it, cleaning the label off was frustrating.
If I was selling canned goods or gifting them I might put a label on the jar but I do think I'd stick with lid application only.
Just my 2 bits in case you need to know this.
If y'all have been label sticking with great results before then please feel free to ignore me.

Sorry I intended to finish and my keyboard wouldn't let me type.
Goo Gone, which you can buy at any craft, grocery, home store makes taking labels off a snap. Just spritz on a little and let it set for a minute. I usually have some type of scrub brush setting on my sink and you don't even have to have it but I usually use it and labels of any kind on anything just slide right off.
