Has No Life - Lives on TB
Went for a walk behind our house and found this antler today. The small old one I found also and the straight area on that antler (between the 2 bumps) is a good size for the handle for the knife blade currently lying on my work bench. I'll just stain the antler so it looks better on the knife.
The big fresh antler is worth $80 if I sell it in town by the pound (5# at $16 per lb).

Georgetown California: Two young men were looking for deer sheds, when a cougar jumped the 21-year-old. His younger brother called 911 immediately and tried to deter the lion. He sustained injuries as well. The LEOs responded quickly and were able to kill the cougar. Unfortunately, the older brother was declared dead at the scene.

The younger brother was transported to the hospital to treat his injuries. So, if you are out in the woods, PLEASE carry a gun! The new neighbors found cougar tracks near our gate, a few weeks ago while there was still snow on the ground.

One had come down out of the mountains and was probably looking for a quick meal. I never go out on my property without proper protection. In fact, I will never go out into the wooded area alone at all! We have cougars, and momma bears to deal with. The wolves stay to higher ground; but they are here too, thanks to Canada.
