PREP For The Preparation-Minded

I was on the road last weekend, and as is my habit when I go out, I looked for local publications I haven’t previously encountered. I’ve hit a fair number of interesting periodicals that way.

Well, this one doesn’t look local, though it certainly is interesting:

There’s a lot of useful information in there, especially about weapons and “bug-out” gear. I’m not as pessimistic about the future of the United States as some preparationist-minded souls, but I plan to subscribe for a year anyway. Upon which note I must announce the downside: a year’s subscription is 6 issues for $49.95. Clearly the publisher could use more sponsors.

I don't know what's under the cover, but the cover alone gives me pause. If this is all about pragmatic lessons for staying safe, the first for a woman would be to not wear a form-fitting T-shirt and pants.

Overly long hair that's easily gripped might also be counter-indicated. Given that neither is armed doesn't help either, by the look of it.

A small flat .22 in a holster under her tits.
Some thing sharp in sheath, (or maybe multiple somethings) the handle(s) hidden between her shirt and back pack. Uncomfortable but doable.
A flat sgian dubh in her boot. How is her hair clipped in the back?
Something in the backpack? Depending on the scenario at times it may be more advantageous or less problematic to "appear" unarmed.
The guy? A holster strapped to his ankle? Something up his sleeve? Tucked in his pants?
He has a shoulder pack too.

No I don't have a copy, just looking at the picture and seeing something different.

All technically possible. And probably advisable given the sheer number of policia around. That's a point too; they're in a Spanish-speaking country by the looks of it.

All that is possible, but her clothing announces she is unarmed and sexy. That's a bad message to send, whether or not she has a hidden stinger.

Yes but when things go sidways wardrob may not be a top priority. She has substantial boots, sturdy pants and lets face it, what is going to sell more copy? A cute young thing in a t shirt or an old fart in Carhartt?

fporretto you wouldn't happen to be the editor in chief of that publication?

decent publication with usually a few informative articles in each issue LOTS of advertisements for gear ... I usually pick it up at local grocery store chain

Genevieve

working on it
I've picked up a couple in the past. High gloss, high dollar ads and so are the "articles" lol

No thanks

Same goes for Recoil which is by the same people just about weapons
nice alpha male "porn" for those of us who like men on the covers
but again high dollar ads for high dollar gear and so are the articles for the gear

can't afford it so don't bother

I pretty much REALLY like knives but none of them in the pic turn my crank, except maybe the one with the gut hook.. 3 gut hooks? must be for multitasking?
