Boy things are pretty quite around here lately! I'm so excited today. I took a half nights vacation to come home and watch the fireworks with my family. This is our carnival week, and they always have the fireworks on Thursday night. Since I work second shift I never get to see them. I had surgery last summer and was still off work the week of the carnival, so I got to see them for the first time in about 9 years. They were absolutely beautiful, probably the nicest I've ever seen. I made up my mind that I wasn't missing them this year. My daughter just called from work and said somebody told her that they are going to be even better than last year. We're going to have a fire in the yard, cook marshmallows, and watch the show. Doesn't get much better than this!!! The carnival and chain saw carving rendevous in March are the highlights of this poor little town. Saturday they will have the Fireman's parade, then that will officially be the end of our summer. Really hate to see it end, since we never had a summer to begin with!!!
