Influenza can not be stopped but unlike Coronaviruses (of all sorts including common colds) it is possible to create somewhat useful vaccines given enough time (yes they have problems, no they don't always work); and there are known steps that can be taken (such as LOCALIZED shutdowns as the virus moves around) that help control spread.
We also have things like elderberry (being used as a pharmaceutical in Isreal and other places), Tamiflu (works in a similar fashion to elderberry) and some other medications that can treat symptoms or that tend to lower the seriousness of the disease in many people.
So being AWARE, not terrified, not stupid about it, not hysterical but aware is a good thing; and a heads up to world-wide researchers that there may be a second "big one" threat out there they need to be researching really fast.
