Hi posting this on the main because it is time sensitive - today only one of the major books I use in documenting historical information on European textiles and traditional women's tasks is just $1.99 on Kindle.

The author is an academic but this is NOT an academic book (she's got those too and I have them in hard copy as I have this one) but is written for the average reader who has an interest in the subject - especially the creation of clothing and textiles from the late stone age through ancient Greece and the Balkans in Northern and Southern Europe.

It is easy to read and I highly recommend her more academic books for those who are interested and get hooked on the subject (she also wrote the book about the textiles of the European mummies found in China).

Anyway, while the hard copy is better because of the pictures - you won't want to miss this if you also have an e-reader - for 1.99 you can carry it around and refer back to it.

I personally use this book in a lot of my SCA (Middle Ages club but not academic) documentation.
