I can't believe they are just starting to look for people from there today. It's only a 5 hour old post. The nurse that was there....that was DAYS ago.

10/11 was 8 days ago. Are they just now getting out this request. Why use Facebook? If it were urgent it should have been national news.

Might want to add OH to the title so it doesn't get confused with UK. When I read East Liverpool, I defnitely wasn't thinking about Akron, OH.

Most of the mindless goobers in this country don't watch the news.

The DO however, follow facebook constantly.

While in traffic.

Sitting in an intersection, oblivious to the green light.

Always in front of me.

This is one of the stops that Amber Vinson made when she was in Akron. They've quarantine this shop...I believe it is still locked

The nurse went to a bridal fair while she was there. They are so far behind this, it's surreal. They knew where she went within 48 hours after she was admitted.

I'm not sure why a hospital in East Liverpool would be doing a facebook post like that. East Liverpool is in Columbiana County, not Summit County. It's located on the Ohio River right across from Chester, WV, which is in the tippy top of the Northern Panhandle. If anything, it's closer to Youngstown. Not saying it didn't happen....it's just that it makes no sense, since it's not all that close to Akron.

Why are you afraid to go to Youngstown? The shop she was at is in Akron, which isn't all THAT close to Youngstown. I'm about 75 miles from Akron right now, and will be living in the Cleveland area again soon, and it doesn't bother me at all. People need to get a grip, imo. If, and until, this thing gets totally out of hand, I think folks are totally over reacting. But again, it's just my opinion.....I refuse to live my life in fear.

God has a plan, Trust it!
I bet they know the people who had appointments who were there already, and after interviews, they realized someone was in there off the street that did not have an appointment and was not identifiable.

but she has been cleared of Ebola as of today

I you sure she is cleared? I think she is fighting for her life. Last I heard she was transported to Atlanta and the first nurse was transported to Maryland.

Getting hard to figure out who's on first.

A teacher from the Wadsworth area was at the bridal shop...here is info on that (hope I am not drifting the thread too much)

http://www.newsnet5.com/news/local-...when-ebola-patient-there-school-being-cleaned

WADSWORTH, Ohio - An elementary teacher in Medina County was in an Akron bridal shop at the same time Ebola patient Amber Vinson was, according to school officials.

The Wadsworth City School District confirms the 1st grade teacher from Valley View Elementary school has been placed on leave for 21 days after being in Coming Attractions Bridal Shop & Formal, Inc. while Vinson was there.

The district says it is not clear whether the teacher came in direct contact with Vinson at this time.

As a precaution, the school will be sanitized over the weekend, the district confirmed.

NewsChannel5 spoke with the owner of the bridal shop on Thursday as she recounted Vinson’s trip to her store.

NewsChannel5 and newsnet5.com has reached out to the district to confirm if the teacher came in contact with students.

Panic Sex Lady
How am I supposed to feel reassured by public health officials that I'm in no danger of catching Ebola when they are disinfecting places where third-degree contacts work?

Has exhaled air from the state of Ohio drifted nearby and touched my bare skin?

Panic Sex Lady applies a thin spritz of chlorine everywhere ...

i have found this news report from fort Wayne TV channel 15..

http://http://wane.com/2014/10/19/six-people-under-watch-for-ebola-in-putnam-county/

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) – Putnam County, Ohio health officials said Sunday that six people who were in the same bridal shop as Amber Vinson, the Dallas nurse who was diagnosed with Ebola and had traveled to Akron, are being closely monitored for signs of Ebola.

Putnam County is approximately 50 miles east of Fort Wayne and just east of Paulding County.

The health department released the following statement on its Facebook page:

“It is believed at this time that there was no direct, high-risk contact between the individuals. As a precaution, and as directed by Ohio Department of Health and CDC, the individuals are being monitored. Quarantine is not indicated because of the low risk of exposure.

“High risk, direct contact is skin-to-skin or mucus membrane contact, or contact with blood or body fluids of someone infected.
Health Commissioner Mary Ann Myers, MD states, “We believe there was no direct contact as defined by ODH parameters. The residents of Putnam County can be assured that our department is staying in constant contact with all involved parties, including health officials from ODH and CDC, to ensure the safety of our residents. We believe the risk to the Putnam County community is very low. All those being monitored in Putnam County are health and symptom free.”

“It is important to understand the facts about Ebola and its transmission:

Ebola is a rare and deadly disease caused by infection with one of the Ebola virus strains.
Ebola is spread by touching the blood and body fluids of a person who is sick with Ebola, or things with their blood and body fluids on it like clothes and bedding. Ebola is NOT spread through air, food or water.
Patients are contagious only when they are symptomatic and show signs of fever.
Anyone believing that they have been in contact with a person with Ebola should call their health care provider”

I feel sorry for the lady who owns the bridal shop. In my opinion, she may as well close permanently. I know I would never want ANY dress from there even though they said Vinson didn't try on any dresses, just her bridesmaids did. And even if the business is cleaned from top to bottom, still, it is always going to be known as the "Ebola Bridal Shop". Of course, I am a germaphobe and don't trust any info we are getting from the government. Maybe some people would still be fine shopping there??

She should probably just close up shop and relocate and change the name of the business. And, who would even want to purchase/rent the building after this?

I wonder who's raising money for the poor person that owned that bridal dress shop? I'd say they're pretty much ruined!!!!!:sht:

People tend to forget about that type of thing once the smoke clears, but for the time being, yes you are right.

Amber spent 3 hours in that shop~~~~that's what the OWNER said in an interview~~~~I find it hard to believe she didn't shed not ONE tiny little virus~~~~but then again....look at Ebola-Eric's family....puking...blood....spitting...fever.....who knows really how this thing is spread or WHO is "immune" anymore? Maybe its mutated into a 4 month incubator.....

Think of the brides and wedding parties the past 2 weekends that didnt get their attire. Im sure that there are many wedding in the pipeline.

In this case- the only thing worse than not getting your wedding attire....would be getting it with a bit of ebola

Man not worried about Ebola after visiting same bridal shop as Amber Joy Vinson

AKRON, Ohio -- Peter Pattakos spent 20 minutes Saturday in an Akron bridal shop, getting fitted for a tux for his friend's wedding. Thursday, his friend sent a text message, telling him that Ebola patient Amber Joy Vinson had been in the store around the same time.

"I thought, 'Oh, that's interesting,'" Pattakos said in a telephone interview Friday.

Summit County Public Health is asking people who visited Coming Attractions Bridal and Formal, on East Tallmadge Avenue, from noon to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, to contact the health department at 330-926-3939. The store was closed Thursday because of concerns about Ebola.

Pattakos, 36, a Cleveland attorney who lives in Bath Township, called the health department, which told him to call back if he exhibits any Ebola symptoms. He called a doctor, who told him not to worry.

"I didn't exchange any bodily fluids with anyone, so I'm not worried about it," he said. "I'm much more likely to be mistakenly killed by a police officer in this country than to be killed by Ebola, even if you were in the same bridal shop."

Vinson, a nurse at a Dallas hospital, treated Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan, who later died. A Firestone High School and Kent State University graduate, she spent last weekend with family in Tallmadge planning her wedding.

Vinson tested positive for Ebola on Tuesday, after returning to Dallas, but may have had symptoms as early as Oct. 10, the day she flew Frontier Airlines to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Officials are contacting passengers on that flight and her Monday flight back to Dallas.

Concerns over the deadly disease, which is spread through infected bodily fluids, have led to business, government and school closings throughout Cleveland and Akron.

Pattakos thinks people are overreacting, and he blames wall-to-wall media coverage. He hopes Vinson recovers soon.

"I wish people would freak out this much about climate change," he said. "It's one of those problems that's real easy for the media to cover, rather than some of those other problems that people should be more concerned with."
