Prep Genrl Empty Propane Fuel Cylinders

I have a few of the small 16.4 oz size, that I use in my Mr. Heater stoves. My question is what, if anything can I do with the empty's ? I know they cannot be refilled !

Does anyone have any innovative ideas of what to do with them ? I thought about using them as targets, as they are empty, but not so sure that is a good idea. I don't think the landfill wants them. Next county over has a recycle center, they take about everything, newspaper, glass, plastic, old AAA - AA - C - D batteries etc. If no one has any good ideas, I will call them.

Thanks to all in advance !!!!

Dad swears there is a refill valve available on Amazon that will keep you from overfilling them. He uses the small ones a lot. I haven't had time to look though.

When they are empty they don't make great targets. Rifle rounds just zip right through.

It might be fun to shoot at them partially full, with tracers.

You can refill them on your own from say a 20lber with an ~$8 adaptor. One caveat is they might leak, so you will have to be careful how you store or transport them.

If one had a heavy 4+- foot long metal pipe that has a ID of just a bit wider than one of those canisters. Thinking potato type gun....cannon....ordinance additives etc..

Put them in the freezer and refill.

Home Despot lists one that is designed for refill. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Flame-K...af&gclid=CMG45dbb194CFQd7gQodUkoOTw&gclsrc=ds

Manchester Tanks makes a refillable with a valve. I have a coupla these. Refill them from my house tank.
