To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic.

independent voters aren't going to swing an election.
there aren't enough of them
In the so-called bluest of blue states, Massachusetts, independents now outnumber Democrats. The only way, in a fair election, for the right to win is if independents largely vote for Republicans. There certainly are enough of them. Democrats outnumber Republicans. Republicans plus independents outnumber Democrats. I'm not saying numbers counted of those registered with a party, I'm saying how they vote.

money? whats that?
I'm reminded of something said by Will Rodgers. (Reading from a paper to the audience.)

"Congress is deadlocked and cannot act. Friends, that is the greatest blessing ever to beset this country."

I happen to agree. Houses of congress divided by party. Neither side can boondoggle funds for their own purposes. Same is true for the Congress and the White House. A balance of power. Now some will say that it doesn't matter because the big money guys buy them all. It does matter. The big money guys can't pull enough levers to get them back into the same office, or higher ones. The people do that. Yes, the last election was stolen imho. But look at how much of the plot has been exposed. To keep the sheeple asleep, or lull them back to sleep, they have to let the peasants have something. People are watching more closely this time.

The Democratic Party has run its course. The government will now be shared by Republicans and RINOs. That should keep the balance. the pendulum will then swing so far right that we will be dominated by puritans and bring back the inquisitions.

I would disagree. I would consider myself an independent. I will note though that I do have a hard and fast rule against voting for anyone that runs under the democrat flag as I consider them a bit slower than the average village idiot. Not a huge fan of repukes but they do seem a little less mental than democrats but that is about all I can say in their favor. I would love to see a few more viable parties take a few seats so they can actually start forcing both of the current crime families to behave a little better if they wanted/needed their votes.

I'm glad we don't have to "register" as anything here to limit our options. We just vote.

Like that does any good anymore...
The only thing it limits in NY is you have to be registered with a party to vote in that party's primary. I did once change my affiliation to Republican for a month, to vote in a closely contested local primary where we knew one of the candidates was a skuzzball. Changed back ASAP.

Here, you have to register Dem, Rep, or Independent. But all that affects is primaries. Independents can only vote in one primary or the other, not both. And once you chose, if you chose, you can't switch until the regular election.
