Assuming this isn't something everyone else on the forum knows about except for me, the 2020 doomer movie "Greenland" is now stocked in the Redbox machines (or at least in one Redbox machine here in the Portland, Oregon suburbs), presumably for about $2/day rental. It's about a comet on a collision course with Earth and one man races to save his family by getting them to Greenland into a bunker. Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin are the main stars. Earlier articles posted here on the forum about the movie said it's been well received in many countries. Naturally the Redbox machine was out of stock.

We watched it. We both felt that 2012 was a better movie, though DH has problems with both - he felt they both had too optimistic an ending.

watched it again the other week - if you can overlook the basic premise of the movie - it's not the worse - better than all the dumbazz B zombie movies ...

It was a decent movie. The part with him being away from home when the alert came over is my worst fear. Well, one of them LOL

Watched it a couple weeks ago. It was ok... just like every other ELE movie with falling mountains...Armageddon, Deep Impact, Meteor, hell, even the remake of The Time Machine...

Worth a rental...in six months a Walmart $9.95 Blu-ray. Glad I didn’t see it in a theater.

Part of why I posted the tip was that Redbox is a cheap way to see movies. Usually the movies are only about $2/day, so if the movie isn't quite what you expected the most you lose is a couple of bucks and some time. You do need to have an account with them and use a debit or credit card, though.

I thought it was interesting that the comet was not from our solar system. I also thought it was odd that they had virtually no opening credits, although it may be the pandemic had an effect on their post-production work. For example, I don't recall seeing either Gerard Butler or Morena Baccarin's names at the start of the movie, just the various companies involved in making the movie. By the way, the rental cost me $1.80 for one day.
