We know that a daily diet that includes lots of fruit and vegetables is healthier, but now it seems that it can also help prevent one from being infected with COVID-19.

A new study from Boston published in the journal Gut reports that consuming healthy food like produce may lower the risk of contracting the virus, in addition to lowering the severity of symptoms if one is infected. Although doctors have stated that metabolic conditions including obesity and type 2 diabetes can cause severe coronavirus complications, this study is among the first to add nutrition to the equation.

Researchers from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston added that the effect of diet on COVID-19 risk, as well as on the severity of symptoms is particularly strong among those living in weakened socio-economic areas. Previous reports suggest that poor nutrition is a widespread trait among groups disproportionately affected by the epidemic, but data on the link between diet and the risk of getting the virus and then developing severe symptoms is lacking, said study editor Jordi Marino, a doctoral student and instructor at Harvard Medical School, in a press release.
.
The research team analyzed data collected on 592,571 people from the United States and United Kingdom between March and December 2020. Each participant completed a survey of their dietary habits, with study authors scoring people’s “diet quality,” with an emphasis on fruit and vegetable consumption.

During the follow-up period, 31,831 participants developed COVID-19. The findings showed that people who had a healthier diet had a 9% lower risk of contracting the virus compared to people who ate a poorer diet. Similarly, the results showed that those who ate healthier were 41% less likely to develop severe symptoms.

"These findings have been consistent in a variety of analyses we performed that address other health habits, social welfare factors, and virus transmission rates in the community," Marino added in the release.

Another one of the researchers, Dr. Andrew Chan, explained that while getting vaccinated and wearing a mass indoors and in crowded spaces is paramount, the research suggests that eating properly may reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19.

The researchers also observed a cumulative link between poor nutrition, increased socioeconomic deprivation and COVID-19 risk.

People who live in poor neighborhoods who rely heavily on fast food are much more susceptible to the virus than any of these conditions alone. Models estimate that nearly a third of virus cases would have been avoided if one of these two conditions didn’t exist, explained Dr. Marino.

In conclusion, the researchers believe that making healthy, plant-based foods more available and affordable can help advance the end of the epidemic.

"Our findings are a call for governments and those who develop protocols to prioritize healthy eating and welfare with influential policies," Dr. Marino concluded.

So, is man-made Covid a form of genocide (like abortion)--aiming at a particular class or race?

Covid kills fat people. That is all you need to know about diet.

While this might be a true statement....you arent allowed to say these things out loud. You must support everyone just the way that they are, because that is the new social norm.

Interesting, all of the people I know who have died from covid have been rail thin, including one family member. I don't know a single fat person who has died from this virus, I do know quite a few fat people that are "long haulers" and what they all have in common is they have hashimotos disease.

Vitamin D deficiency is a big problem as well. That one is easily fixed.

A woman at our church who is probably 70 and over 300 pounds, health issues, just got weak and could not take care of herself, and had to go to the hospital for a day and was back home. A couple others in 30s overweight and fine now. Did not go to the hospital.

I believe a healthy lifestyle will go a long way toward avoiding the kung flu as well as other things. Vitamin deficiencies, and obesity contribute to lower resistance, and also to co morbidities. Nothing makes you bullet proof, but it helps to keep your self as healthy as possible.

My phsycially fit, organic food eating and juicer nut is sick with it right now. So I wonder how accurate that actually is or if he just got unlucky because his company is infested with the virus….
Juicing is not good for you. Its close to drinking soft drinks. The only thing that stops all the sugar from messing you up is the fiber which juicers remove. Without the fiber your body is attacked by all the fructose.

This, the first initial study last year out of Italy had 90% or so of the deaths were vitamin D deficient

Read in the Source of all Truth (Net) that fat soaks up Vit D. That is why fat people are at great risk unless they are really loading vit D.

Diet, but not dieting goes a long way for certain. I made that lifestyle change many years ago. And guess what? I've not been sick in over 20 years. I believe there is validity to this, but still have to be mindful by listening to your body. I am not skinny nor fat. Just blessed with good Scottish genes I suppose. 6'0, 200lbs, and barrel chested. People don't ever F with me. It's probably my resting bitch face that scares them off. :D Or it at least scares the Corona away.

Ok. Let me get up here on my high horse without hurting myself. Blahahaha! I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. I'm thin. However, I don't own a tv, have internet, or swear. Damn, this horse is high!

I know several overweight people who have died or been extremely sick from covid. Being overweight is not healthy. However, not every thin person is healthy either.

I bet people that only eat at home or home packed food during their day prevents people from dying of wuflu-bioweapon.

It has long been known that eating well improves your immune system. If we all ate well there would be very few people needing vitamins. I'll ponder this more while I finish off these Cheetos and a cold Dos Equis.

There are plenty of fat people that are healthy. They eat well and do heavy work instead of going to a gym.
I think the analogy that covid kills fat people is just a generalization of average people that are fat and have serious health problems that the wutangfru does seriously effect.

I wondered about this some months back.

A very loose observation of people who've had a bad time of it or died, many were known to have a crap diet.

Lotsa processed food an no veggies.

Interestingly enough, a whole foods diet also greatly benefits the gut biome, which is a little understood but vital immune system proponent.

Gut biome weighs between six and twenty eight pounds depending on how healthy one is. Note having a so called healthy diet does it mean one has a healthy gut biome. Walking across a pasture and coming into contact with livestock shit etc., does ensure a healthy gut biome.

Mine weighs 32 pounds, I chock that up to four years of milking cows, and having chickens, ducks, geese, meat rabbits, and a variety of exotic pets.and well Orion Commander and are slobs. Also I experienced a severe case of ecoli food poisoning in 1998.

I suspect that the medical industry would collapse if everyone ate real food and did cardio.

I'm seeing more and more social media posts in my area about the local Walgreens and CVS pharmacies being so busy, they are having to close to walk-in prescription fill request just to focus on filling outstanding prescriptions. It isn't for lack of help either. They are paying enough to have plenty of people behind the counter from what I see, it is just there are so many people taking something at any given time, the volume of prescriptions is just overwhelming the system.

We've become a nation where we try to cure everything with some fancy chemical cocktail in pill form. Wall Street and politicians love it because it means $$$$ for their brokerage accounts. Same thing why booster shots are being lobbied hard, just follow the billions of dollars to be made.

I simply don't know anybody who's had a bad case of it (and actually, nobody who has tested positive), have no personal anecdotal evidence, so can't judge.

Unhealthy people are gonna be at risk for anything that comes along. Covid is just the "flavor of the month". The opportunist-at-hand.

My mom is 80 years old. She is fat and has been all most all of her adult life. She loves to eat. However even though she eats a lot of junk and drinks soft drinks she also makes a point of eating a very healthy diet as far as regular meals go. Lots of fruits and vegetables. You need the good stuff in your life. If all you eat is junk you are made of junk. Mix junk food with good stuff and your body has the opportunity to maintain health in my opinion.

She goes out dancing a few days a week and is always on the move. Its hard for me to ever get to talk to her because she runs around so much. She still works plus does a lot of volunteer work and cares for her brother who is dying and his wife who is on her way out. She cleans house for a couple in their early 70's because they are unable.

She had her heart/circulatory system checked out a few years ago. The doc said surprisingly she has a heart/circulatory system of someone in their late twenties iirc.

Fat does not necessarily mean unhealthy. Thin does not mean you are healthy. What you eat and how much you get off your behind and move is a key factor to a long "healthy" life.

People I know who were in great shape and worked hard all their life then retire, set around and fall apart in just a few short years. I watched my inlaws fall apart after both being very healthy and working until 62 years old. They sat down in front of the TV and died of inactivity. Old timer builders and contractors go down in a similar way when they just quit doing much of anything after a long hard working life.

The health benefits of that Dos far outweigh the detriments of those cheetohs.

Trust me.
