I'm posting this because earlier this month an acquaintance, military - US Army was recently redeployed to Africa for three years. I've no idea where in Africa or if these events are related in any way.

If it's the Entebbe airport it's big enough for any military transport and fighter/bombers China has to operate out of there, especially if they improve it......AND it's pretty much centrally located to cover ALL OF AFRICA with Combat AIR SUPPORT!! Also, if is it ENTEBBE you all might remember that particular airport for the historic Israeli Raid in 1976 to rescue Jewish hostages. HMMMMmmmmMMMMM.

There were conflicting stories about this last week so I didn't post it on the Africa thread. However Senegal has asked the Chinese to help out with Islamic terrorism occurring in western Africa. And yesterday I posted a thread about Equatorial Guinea about to lose a port because of Chinese debt that they can't repay. This would give the Chinese a port on the Atlantic as part of their Belt and Road Initiative. And Uganda has had some terrorist attacks recently.
